The US and brits didnt make it to berlin because operation market garden was a "stretegic defeat" The US did help the ALLIES deeply in in africa and US did take france from germany but ur saying they did good because they know how to shoot? Well, we won WWII NOT because we were the better country. No. Germany had us beat in terms of technology and possibly tactics. Rommel was quite possibly the best military strategist ever. Even Patton looked up to him, and Patton was a great military strategist. But America joined in late, Germany was spread too far out, their best troops were being killed in Russia, and we baited them into moving their troops into a terrible position. As far as every other wasr, we've been fighting poor countries that can't afford a long term war.
Russians in Berlin, holding the line in Stalingrad (nowadays Wolvograd) 100.000's of allied country soldiers (Canadian, English, Polish etc. etc.) dying in airborne drops, armored support operations, mechanical endorsements. America was, like ZeroShot13 just noted, part of the alliance, netiher were they small, or big. They were a gear in the greater allied machine. It's not America that won the war, it were the allied forces. Kudo's to ZeroShot13 for being a realistic American that hasn't caught the national-pride-over-everything virus in a country that confronts it's citizens with the concept 24/7.
