Samphi is primarily a story driven RPG set in a randomly generated, destructible sandbox universe. You will fight across many randomly generated levels, craft, build, level up and collect gear. Most importantly; you play the game how you decide. With 2 game modes, story & freeplay, you can either play through my story or create your own.

Story - Samphi is a story about a relationship between 'boy' and 'girl'. Through re-living memories along the timeline of their relationship (all set in sandbox, randomly generated environments) you will learn their story. To do so you will have to master the art of crafting, survival, building and combat.

Freeplay - In freeplay mode the world is yours. There is no goal, just sandbox goodness. Create your own world, live your own story and use your skills to survive.

Samphi is going to soon be in an alpha funding stage and so you can get a good idea of what the game is going to become and grab yourself an early copy at a discounted price.

A quick update on development

Hi everyone. It’s been a while. Over 2 months actually, so I wanted to drop a quick update on the state of Samphi and why development has slowed down to a stop pretty much.

Samphi got Greenlit! So where’s your key

A few days ago Samphi got Greenlit! Huzzah. I thought I’d clear up what’s going to happen in regards to steam keys for those who purchased the game on a different platform.

Alpha Dev-Update #11 – Another year on Samphi and Full time development?

Been over a month since the last update! Sorry about that. I don’t like leaving it that long as I don’t want people to think development had stopped! Fact is I’ve been busy with University as it...

Alpha 0.5 is here to fix some bugs before beta

It's been brought to my attention that 0.4 has had some serious bugs! I've only just been told (I've been busy working on 0.5) so the fix is rather late.

Don't worry, development hasn't stopped. It's just on hold for the next few weeks. I give a brief explanation here. >> Desura.com

Use your mouse wheel to scroll through the different things that are available when crafting. The door is just the top of the list, if you scroll you'll see sticks underneath. That's just a list of that you CAN make. Using the arrows, then clicking on the item actually makes it.

I'll be sure to explain this in a tutorial. :)

By background tiles I presume you mean the cave blocks left behind after digging? Those can't be removed by design. You think I should change that?

If you move to the far right of one screen you should see an icon pop up prompting you to press E to move area. If you don't see that it's a bug so let me know. Each area is it's own save file so it's built this way so you can mix and match different map sections, kinda like lego. :)

Glad you like the look of the game, and thanks for showing support by purchasing it. Beta will be out soon which brings online multiplayer! If you have any more questions or suggestions let me know!

i must be doing quite a lot wrong as the only thing i can do with wood is make a door,i have made a block with dirt to turn into stone BUT,the only thing i can build with is dirt,i have made a kiln thing and some string and these seem to be the only things ,ohh and bread,i cannot interact with the kiln thing as it just picks it up,so perhaps some BASIC intro would be kool as a starter?

DaleGreen. Nov 30 2014, 12:15pm replied:

Yeah, a lot of people have asked for that. Use wood and sticks to make a crafting bench. That opens up most of the recipes. I will for sure add a tooltip for beta showing people that.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. :)
