A top-down action "rogue-lite" designed around procedural generation, a large variety of weapons, and unlockable content wrapped in a parody about time travel.

Take control of a scientist who tries to escape a sudden Apocalypse through his time machine, only for the machine to malfunction and dump him in a distorted version of Earth, filled with just about everything that wants to kill you!

Be careful, because once you die, it's all over!

No two runs are the same! Encounter different enemies and loot every time you play, with unlockable content increasing gameplay variety over time!

Official gamepad support for newer gamepads!

This is the alpha version of Earth Overclocked. The full version will be released at a later date, with a proper demo to be released alongside it.

Hey guys, the Scientist Suit will have an extra life to make the game easier to start. However, the game will still function with permanent death in the final release, simply because it is a core part of the gameplay.

I was considering adding a practice mode, though, that removes bosses and lets you die as many times as you want (with a death counter). This way you can get a better chance to build your skill before trying to tackle the main game itself.

The genre of this game is "rogue-lite," which usually focus on procedural generation, permadeath, and high difficulty. The full release of the game will be a little easier, though, with new mechanics like the Power Card system. The full release will also feature 6 classes (two must be unlocked), and the only playable class in the alpha version (Scientist) will be getting a single-use revive potion.

Also, weapons with high stats will be much more common in the full release with some new things we added to the weapon generator. Merchant weapons will overall be better, too.

By this point in development the public alpha version is seriously outdated. When the time comes we will be release new information about the full version of Earth Overclocked.

If no one has been following the Twitter feed, well the game has been in beta for a few weeks now and it is already shaping up pretty well. It has been optimized and runs faster than it did in alpha, despite the increased resolution to 720p. Also, there are a LOT more enemies and bosses than before.

This is a great game concept, and the gameplay is fun, too. I like how the weapons are randomized. Here's an idea: maybe you can make a way for the player to archive or cache away certain weapons that they find to be great ones (like they can use them on future runs).
