Pitman is a turn-based rogue-like with boardgame style. Everything you desire is inside the randomized dungeons: Dwarfs, trolls, golems, treasures, potions, magic, hammer, bow, much more weapons, ... and don't forget the monster moles and pretzels!
Designing the Difference – Pitman and Dwarf Quest compared
This article is about two dwarf games sharing the same elements. In my article I point out how little design decisions can make the difference.

Enjoy, person or ninja that gets this.
Don't know if this is used or not, but here's another one:

Thanks for the code. :)
THX THX THX !!! :D
Love the concept of the game, reminds me somewhat of the old board game "Hero Quest". Feels like equipment breaks too easily though, and maybe include a highscore table of some sort...?
Pretty good! I like the way everything falls into place and that you can even come across other Dwarves.
Just wanted to comment on the price issue. In my circle no-one really bothers with Desura, they're all Steam users. I agree no matter what you charge sales wont necessarily improve, but for that you need advertising. If people don't know it's there, people won't buy it. I think a game at the current price of £2.89 isn't costly, but it does depend on the quality, length of gameplay, replayability, tech support, and future updates
Maybe it's worth attempting to get the game included in something like a Humble Bundle (possibly the best known of the lot out there) with a Desura key, although I'll admit I don't know what that does for a developer other than promote them. Financially I couldn't comment
I've downloaded the demo, and if I think it's a great game I'll buy it, if I'm unsure I'll track the game and wait for it to appear on sale, giving me an incentive to splash out. I'll also do my small bit to promote it if I do like it :-)
We already had Pitman in two bundles (the Gamedev Bundle and Build a Bundle 2), both with Desura keys. As long as there is money involved, a bundle is always profitable (because your product is digital, you don't have any costs other than some time to answer some mails).
But Humble Bundle really is the only one where developers can make more than a little pocket money. All the other bundles (Indie Royal, IndieGala, or the two I mentioned) don't have that big impact on financial situation. What they all do, though, is making games less worth to the audience. Nowadays games get thrown at you everywhere, and it's hard to make a living as a very small indie dev without a "big hit" yet. We try that with our new game "TRI", but it's really really hard.
Thanks for trying the demo!
Thanks for the reply, interesting to hear from the Devs point of view and I can appreciate how hard it is for a small dev to retail their games, so hurrah for Desura!
Having played the demo I'd say the game is excellent and well worth the money! Can I ask just out of interest if the game is considered finished now or do you have any further plans for it?
Well, it's pretty much finished - we'd rather like to a sequel (or just a game in the spirit of Pitman) which would be planned better beforehand and would have more features. Time will tell, though.
