Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used.
The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

It's a bit sad that the author of this game doesn't hook up with an artist. Mechanics are sound and interesting but the graphics really drag it down.
Pros and Cons.
Actually Im amazed at how well they do with each unit just needing 2 little icon-sized images. There are still some old original graphics but the newer updated ones are fantastic.
I wouldnt want to see the game switched to something like 3D just for eyecandy. We would lose too many player modders. But that is just my opinion. id rather have the mods
Please for the love of god make it so that non-carnivore animals don't attack buildings.
Why is it that I get 10 random deers popping out of no where, attacking my land. I've actually lost many games because some wild f*cking boars attack my only base without warning or any way of me defending it, because you made it so that I can't buy any troops unless I have 50 freaking gold which BTW is imposible to get unless I leave my only base UNDEFENDED looking to expand so in turn I can actually buy defenses.
All nations have an income without taking anything if you can be patient.
The animals do not attack buildings the way goblins or knights do. But they do randomly wander so they can go thru towns if there are no guards doing lots of damage. That is world-realistic.
If it really bothers you then there are some player done mods and maps at www.CoE-3.com forum to change it
Gp you ar eliterally the biggest apologist retard i have EVER seen online. For the past 6+ years i see you defending illwinter in the most utterly fanboy fashion imaginable. "World Realistic" idiot
Not just Illwinter. In any game I am enjoying I tend to prefer RPGing something if possible instead of whining about it.
But in this case I grew up among farmers. And I have done wildlife management in the military. Deer aint Bambi dude. Deer kill more people in the US than bear, wolf, cougar, alligator and shark combined (mostly vs cars but still they are tough). If you go to google and search for deer attacks there are some fun things on there. Even one deer, that gets into a building, can do a lot of damage. And that is just my experience in the US. The deer where the devs live are quite abit rougher as I understand it. So yes, wandering animals will damage your farm if you dont leave an armed person there. :) But if it REALLY bugs someone I was the first to offer up a mod to fix it.
Altho for game purposes I find it better to just leave a commander around to reclaim a spot after the animals leave. A small group can patrol a large area more efficiently than trying to hang onto everything for every turn. If any MP grames break out then Im sure the spreadsheeters will pass judgement on that tactic but it works ok for me.
Strange. Mine is working flawlessly. I absolutely love both this and Dominions 3. Great fun and has a strange modernish civ 1 feel to it in terms of the graphics. Grab this and love it.
I'm utterly ******. I just want to pay my $10 and play the ******* game. First I've got Datura asking if I've loaded it, or something, then I've got to become a member, and now it's asking me for a code with dashes, and all I've ******* got is a confirmation code, and it won't take it.
So thanks a lot. I already hate CoE and I haven't started playing yet.
You don't need to install the Desura client. Just go here: Secure.desura.com and enter the Steam key for Conquest of Elysium 3 and it will appear in your list of bought games here. Then download and install the game. No client needed.
The Desura interface is in some respects a little arcane, so it can cause some problems when first using it. For example, that link can only be found at the bottom of the page listed under the heading Play (the Activate Key option).
Sorry you had such trouble with it.
I bought the game on steam a while back and wish to activate it on Desura as well, i notice the Desura version specifically mentions that the reverse is easilly possible.
However, the cd-key in the CoE3 folder does not activate on desura, i get the message "cd-key is no longer valid". Does anyone have any ideas or advice on this?
