US Intervention (USI) is a modification based upon the Persian Gulf War in 1991 where about half a million US troops fought among other allied forces to liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi forces.

The mod was originally created for Battlefield Vietnam. We felt that Battlefield 2 would be a better alternative so we started building there. The first release came out in May 2006 with a lot of content. In the same month a hot fix was released after a new patch was created for BF2.

Every new release is meant to build upon the previous release adding more vehicle, maps, game modes and overall environment. Version 2.0 is due out soon with 83 different weapons firing 33 types of ammo, 76 vehicles, and 18 levels to battle on.

Realism is a key factor this mod follows in the creation of the content. With some real and possible events being portrayed in every map. The battles have been evened out to give both sides a chance of winning. Teamwork is the key.

US Intervention 2.0 is here!

Well here it is! US Intervention and Black Sand Studio presents USI 2.0.  After 4 years from our last release and after 6 years total in production so far, we give you a nice new build with more levels and loads more toys to play with. Be sure to report any bugs found so we can continue to tweak the game until its right for everyone.  We have no change log yet and we still need to put up a vehicle instruction post showing you the buttons and functions of certain items we may need to explain.  We wish to thank all other BSS mods for all the support and help given from time to time.  Thanks also go out to those who contributed from outside of BSS.  You can visit our download page or visit us on ModDb for the files.  If there is anyone interested in providing mirrors, please pm Guedoe with the mirror address so we can update our dl page.

USI 2.0 Server

A lot of work has been put into this build as so much has changed since our last release in 2008 with 1.7(.17). We hope everyone loves playing in the sand again. Some of the Devs will be joining servers here and there to chat with players and get feedback. So if you see one on your server, show them how pretty your knife is! Now report for duty soldier, there is a war to win!

Here is some screen shot of some of our maps.

It's a B-52 flyover effect, on some maps you will occasionally see them fly over.

its been said that BF3 is not mod-able. Or at least - its so complicated that the expectations are very low.

Nice to see such a classic mod from Black Sand Studios back on feet and kicking (patched) =b

One question: is it 2.0g or 0.2g?

How can you make a BF2 mod of this conflict. Wasn't the casualty ratio literally 100-1? I think it's a great idea, but won't most players get bored just sitting waiting to get blanket bombed over and over and over without any chance of retaliation?
