The Citizen is set parallel to the events of the original Half-Life 2.

The player takes the role of an ordinary man, pushed over the edge by the oppressive regime controlling his life.

His home trashed, his family dead, The Citizen leaves his apartment for the last time. He seeks new friends, and a way to help the human resistance to smash the iron grip of the Combine. What follows is a winding tale of betrayal, determination and grief.

Many obstacles lie in his path which require a sleek combination of agility, stealth, intelligence, and sheer violence to overcome

I have to agree, up untill Voice acting, yeah it might not be proffesional but its a mod. Maps wernt boring just kinda stright forward, although the story was hard to follow, all i got was i was abused (like everyone else) and joined the rebels and had to talk to like 500 people and shot 1 strider. thats pretty much when i quit and gave up on the mod do to staleness. Hope the dev team can make something a bit more exicting in the future.

You can also walk past like half the enimies.

5/10 Good concept, Game play not so great. A lot of un needed background information [personal affairs] and 3 times in a row you have to go talk to someone.

I loved it! I'll admit, the voice acting needed a little work, but other than that, it was great! I particularly loved the disguises, and the Advisor scenes terrifiered me. great work!

It was fun, but I had to use "notarget" to get out of the apartments in the beginning since the Overwatch soldier will see you know matter what you do to stay out of his vision. Technically, he shouldn't have been able to see me at all since I was crouched down, moving against the wall on the walkway, and he was turned sideways below me. Wearing a gas mask like they do would kill all peripheral vision. Also, getting out of the train station was impossible without activating the "God" mode due to the extreme amount of Manhacks you have to face. That was ridiculous. Way, way too many in there. The voice acting is subpar as well. Seems like no one involved was giving it their all emotion wise, especially the squad leader in the end. His monotone, emotionally voice wouldn't inspire any rebel to take up arms. I'm not an actor, but jeez, I could have done a better job.
