Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) is a total overhaul that completely redefines the Homeworld experience. TFS aims to transform Homeworld2 into a tactics-oriented combat simulator by enhancing the tactical aspect of the game through the inclusion of new content and revamping the entire pace of combat to simulate a more immersing and adrenaline-soaked experience. Recurring themes are quasi-modern (circa 20th century) air and naval doctrines modified for three-dimensional movement complete with a proper unit classification system. Grand strategy plays a significant role, but the emphasis is placed on battlefield adaptability simulated by a large amount of available assets - some of which have similar roles but are only applicable under specific circumstances. Combined arms is the name of the game: there are no individual "super" powered units. Even the strongest ships will be taken down in short order if not managed correctly and utilized in conjunction with other assets.

I had like no problem at all with this mod, not with multiplayer, nor with the campaign (so far)! it's sweeet...
Hi All,
Just tried downloading this on Desura. Download seemed OK. Currently running a Windows 8 machine. When I try running the mod through Desura, I get a black screen for a second, and then it exits back to my desktop. I've ensured the .big files are in the correct location (x86) as per the README. I also tried generating a new desktop icon with the correct launch path
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
The Resource Injection for the FBP battle mode does not work... but for BMM, it does but in BMM, the AI does not produce any ships or modules past the starting RU mark

No, the mod is not dead, but it is a largely completed project so there wont be many major updates in the future.
Fixed my problem: Instead of clicking on "Play" after desura-starting TFS I always launched v2.8 as mentioned in the launch dialogue.
I'm sure this has been raised before, but the campaign mode doesn't progress on mission 3 after destroying the first vaygr carrier. Used version 2.8 on that one, is that the problem?
If it's the "Probes destroyed" flag not triggering properly - yes, I have the same issue...try v2.7, it might do.
