This mod enhances the things that make Crysis great, and adds a number of new things. New blood effects, bullet drop and penetration, 22 new ammo types, and more weapon changes than I could list here. Armored vehicle have different ammo types. The US Tank gets SABOT, HEAT, and Canister shells. The NK Tank gets HEAT, SABOT, and AT-11 Missiles. The APC's get HEI-T (normal) shells and Canister shells for the cannon, and the TOW missiles are now player guided.
Weapons are more versatile, for example the Gauss Rifle can destroy any vehicle and can shoot through concrete walls. The SCAR with all the different attachments and 40mm grenade types can be used in any situation.
Also included are Fortran's Barrett M107, and Rad15's advanced AI, used with permission of the respective creators.

I know I'm a year late :( but if ANYONE could please help me. I've obviously installed the Tactical-Expansion mod and put it into my Mods folder in "Crysis/". I've downloaded Desura to launch the mod, and I've made sure my Crysis shortcut had "-MOD Tactical-Expansion" at the end. I've even tried putting DX9 and DX10 at the end. I've tried EVERYTHING and every time it just results in me launching Crysis, and it having some error and closing. I think it was meant to be I can't play it lol. Help please?

For the installer to work right, the base game folder "Crysis" must be selected as the location to install the files to. It's the default location for the installer so you'll only need to change it if you installed the game to a different hard drive or something.
Now to launch, I would not recommend using desura.
The easiest thing to mess up on the shortcut is that there needs to be a space between the existing stuff in the target field and the "-MOD"
EX: in my case it's
"F:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -MOD Tactical-Expansion -DX9
I have the game on a secondary HDD, so don't copy that directly.
Lastly, are you using the steam or normal version of the game?
I'm using the normal version, I have the CD with me.
Do you have the game patched to 1.21 and the VS2010 redistributable installed?
I made sure VS2012 was installed because I went to Microsoft and made sure it was good to go. But when I checked to update to 1.21 it said I needed 1.1 first. So when downloading 1.1 this error came up in the middle of downloading: "Error 1334. The file '_FA617D1CBE254FD8A298D6903419A81A' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'PCW_CAB_Family1'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from CD-ROM, or a probl..." I can't read the rest. I'm not sure what I'll do next.
An error like that downloading is...weird. Really don't know what to make of it. I'd try downloading the patch from somewhere else.

Now for the AI issues, there are some glitches with the advanced AI used in the mod. I have no clue how to fix them since the advanced AI was done by someone else.
I never noticed any AI problems on the big tank battle mission. For other reasons, that mission is changed completely by this mod because the tanks are so much more potent.
The mini attack choppers were put in on the request on someone on this site. One of those just for fun things.
