Source Media Arcade is an all-in-one media center experience for your PC. Shortcuts to your files, games, and movies appear as full-sized arcade cabinets, hand-held tablets, or mounted view screens. You access your media items simply by walking up to them and pressing the USE key. In version 2, you are able to play in MULTIPLAYER mode where your friends can come join in on the fun.

I don't want to be an idiot or anything, but... I don't really get how it works. So you simply export a game file, press it in-game, and zoop, you're in that game? And still in the source main while? Gonna download and try out, when the Beta 2 gets out on this site.
Its pretty much just a virtual desktop. Instead of shortcuts on your desktop, its a virtual environment in which your shortcuts are 3d arcade cabinents, posters, etc. Launching them will launch them however they usually launch outside of the program.
New update should be here any minute. I suggest you follow the mod and wait to download until version 2.0c gets posted later today.
I remember when this was just an idea, years ago if I'm correct.
Yeah, I spent 2 solid Summers on it, so probably about 2 years ago now.
I actually completely re-wrote it between BETA and Release versions, so this branch is really about 1 year old.
holy F*** i swear to god i thought of something exactly like this thatd be cool for MAME where its a 3d arcade you walk around and choose the game omg this is awesome!
I really don't like your Mod Sith ....................................... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
As a user of XBMC/Visual Pinball/Mame and 3D arcade I find it adds a new truly sexy dimension to a Media center.
Wandering around in an awesome full 3D environment with a HUGE customized map that allows me the freedom to have an arcade center building with access to all my pinball and MAME retro games in glorious 3D cabinets whilst having a movie studio across the road that I can walk into and see and choose my movies is just insane.
Also being able to have a Rally track, Drag strip and a race track with drive-able cars all on the same map is just one of the great ways to enjoy this mod.
And to top it all off being able to add a Props/NPC's and Seeing Star Wars/Marvel super heroes and movie/game characters and vehicles from the enormous sdk source database is just well bloody cool.
Thanks from a truly appreciative media junky.
Would love to see a add Prop/NPC/vehicle to your fe rather than someone using the map editor is this possible tell me it is :)
OH and last thing please add some more stand-up environmental arcade cabs you know them from your 3darcade experience so get modeling LOL
Thanks for the feedback cyclonic. New cabinet models are the next thing I plan to release in the DLC store.
As far as spawning NPC's and other things, you can create items that issue console commands. I still need to add this topic to the user's manual, but it's possible issue any Source engine console commands and cheats using items. This is how the Spawn Airboat DLC item works.
TF2 maps are supported, as well as TF2 add-on maps.
The paid version of TF2 will grant you access to the mod. However, the free version of TF2 does not allow you to play Source engine mods. Valve keeps hinting around that Source Mods will become free to play also, but we'll see.
