Master your weapon. Master the Force. Master yourself. The Open Jedi Project (OJP) is an open source modification for Raven Software's Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Aiming to develop innovative, fun features to the base game, OJP, led by Razor Ace, brings together dedicated fans to integrate their vision of what a Star Wars game should feel like with those of others. Open Jedi Project consists of two mods: Basic and Enhanced. Whereas Basic serves as an unofficial patch to fix bugs and increase the capacity for other modders to experiment in baseJKA, OJP: Enhanced breaks new ground with major overhauls to the Jedi Knight gameplay. Open Jedi Project Enhanced (OJP: Enhanced) makes major gameplay alterations that not only build upon existing features that make base JKA fun, but also introduces new features that greatly increase immersion into epic Star Wars battles.

The mod's been dead for years now. There's still a possibility of reviving it with a new team, but it seems unlikely at time of posting.

I originally retired from modding when I got married and got a full time job in the games industry. Some of the other guys kept the project going for several years afterwards but they eventually moved on as well.

I've recently come back to the mod after discovering that it's now hosted on Desura. I'm kind of working on an anniversary with some interested parties.

I don't know what originally happened, but the core members don't have time for it anymore; they're working full time etc

Desura has the latest official OJP release. If you're interested in something more experimental (and unstable), you can check out our google drive builds folder.

This is in my opinion the most amazing Jedi Academy mod out there! MBII's saber system pales in comparison to this one! I still play coop alot with my brother and I hope that the recent release of the source code for JA will compel modders to take up this project and raise it to new heights! :)

Still the best mod available. Essential if you want a true Star Wars style saber combat, though this mod really shines in the saber area rather than the blaster area.

And the new saber effects = awesome.

Cutscenes broken as in... not looking exactly right, or do they make single player unfinishable? Also, if I care only for single-player with new saber styles, which version is less broken/more complete, the beta or the normal one?
