Onirica is a short, experimental and state of the art looking horror mod, which brings you to explore the darkest corners of hero’s mind.

Onirica - developing and complications

While playing with CryEngine Sandbox editor some years ago I already clearly knew that I should create the mod which will be opposite of the mood of original Far Cry.

Maybe i'm being stupid, but I appear to be stuck in the cage with the word MURDERER painted on it.

You should wait around 1 min, then you just will jump to another place.
Actually delay trigger here is setted to 15 seconds I think, but anyway engine time counter is weird. Sometimes delay trigger counts 15 seconds, sometimes even 2 minutes. I'm sorry, it's only related to game engine, it's getting old.

It seems to have a Cry of Fear look to it.

Very atmospheric and depressing in my opinion, which I find a very nice touch because many games fail to portray the kind of depression this one emits or in this case "mod". Definitely worth anyone's time to just like exploring and seeing things in a negative perspective (Black and white). Another plus being the acknowledgement of the game needing to be played straight through to be able to beat it. I like that because a LOT of times, mods dont offer any save state and need to be beaten in one sitting BUT without telling the player. So that's one thing I really liked about this mod. Awesome mod nonetheless. 10/10!

Thanks a lot! Honestly, I didn't expect such a great feedback to this little mod. But it's always nice to hear.
There is more to come, I already think about next free indie game with mood kinda like this but with different gameplay.

Haha, well mods don't need to be big to be good! And if u do intend to make future games that are similar to Onirica, I am definitely looking forward to it!
