The Maelstrom Mod introduces three new races to the Sins of a Solar Empire Universe. They are independent of the original races and have unique strengths and weaknesses. Maelstrom is available Rebellion, Diplomacy, Entrenchment and Original Sins.

Patches
- 1.193 Original
- 1.053 Entrenchment
- 1.34 Diplomacy

Graphics and Particle Effects
- Laser and beam specific colors for races
- Weapon effect for TA bomber fixed

Gameplay
- Updated TA weapons (replaced lasers) missile for a number of capitals and frigates

Balance
- resized dreadnoughts models
- dangerous asteroids - less aggressive, reduced damge, slowed movement.
- reduced pirates attack
- general reduction of weapons, hull, shields, etc for new races ships
- reduced dreadnought ability and firepower, lowered production rate
- rebalanced replicator research
- rebalanced planets

Bugfixs
- Norlamin mass reduction research
- Norlamin battle capitalship model rotation effect
- Norlamin battle capitalship amplify energy ability no longer stacks
- The icons for some of the Norlamin technologies fixed
- Fixed strings for White dwarf and black hole

Models
- change a number of models: orbital structures for new races
- change a number of models: capitalships and frigates for new races

Planets & Stars
- reduced the antimatter recharge ability for a number of stars
- added Star: Quasar
- updated planet texture for Metropolis planet
- added Planets: Fractured planet and Jungle Planet
- delete PlanetProtoPlanet

Pirates
- reworked pirates for E & D, added some missing hud icons

For any new releases, such as mods or news, ModDB has to approve or authorize these releases
