wow boring dont play

After the intro, the screen fades to black.
After it comes back, it shows the last frame of the intro. I can still access the menu with ESC, but I cannot play the game.
I'm using Steam under Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.
Half-life works fine (though widescreen is not supported)
Anything I could try?
Sounds to me like you played the "tutorial". Click "die" again in the main menu and choose a different difficulty, anything but the first one (I recommend "fast").
