Hello Eastern Front fans,

We have recently opened a new section titled "Jobs" where we list the positions that are open in the Eastern Front Team.

At the moment we need:

We also take this chance to tell you that we are havne't stopped to work on Ostheer, here we have a couple of pics for the Infantry Post Gruppen:



And we also present you, the official layout of Ostheer(for the Alpha):


After some discussions, we have decided to remove some units and at the end this is how Ostheer is going to be entering to the Alpha(at least the tech structure). We hope in this way balance would be easier to achieve.

The Beta will start soon :)... our balancers will approach to Ostheer and work with it, after that the closed Beta might extend to Donors and special guests ;).

That's not a flak that's the "mortar" (leInfGeschütz) of the Ostheer. Also mention the fact that the pool layout may change in the process of balancing.

On the other hand, if we would switch the kubel with the leInfGeschütz then the Assault pool would be weak against snipers as the "Sharpshooter" is no real sniper like you know the others, he fires bursts and if he cloaks he can only move proned.

Well that "Machine Cannon", is that it in tier 1 below the support ??? I always wanted to see that weapon :P

What you see in the movie is a 20mm flak (in the movie they scream "20mm pak from the right!" which is wrong).

The Ostheer uses the "Leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18" which fulfills the role of a "strong" mortar.

We wanted to depict it for Ostheer as well :)... but unfortunately, the lack of staff members and the available time of our active members pushed us to remove it from the Alpha.

We weren't sure if we will be able to produce such unit, it's animation process is harder(IMO) than animating a tank. So, it is better to discard it for now and moving forward; you know, Ostheer is already delayed and we cannot delay it even more for something totally uncertain ^^.

So, if we ever make this unit(or someone else does it), maybe could be added as reward unit.

mark_70, you forgot the PzVI Tiger, Also a Doctrine Tank(Right?). And Production version(Henschel Turret) of the PzVI Ausf B Tiger II Reward Unit(Correct me if I'm Wrong)(Due Note: all of this is speculation, just a fan making some guesses)

And the Panther was PzV :P

Otherwise, i can see the Ostheer relying on their armour a lot. We also have Panzerfusiliers that can be called in from the Forward Support Center. If you go straight for them, they can be a powerful closerange weapon. Another thing is the cheap MG34 which can easily hold back the command sqauds an Conscripts in the beginning. Last but not least, the flak 38 emplacement which can easily deal with soviet blobs. btw our balance team got access to the Ostheer yesterday and are now able to work on it!

We just entered the Alpha stage so the Balancers can start to work on the Ostheer. However there is still too much Art (2d/3d) missing to enter the Beta stage. We're currently thinking if we are going to accept Beta Tester applications because we already have a lot (~100). Don't worry about the Beta, it's going to get annouced for sure ;)

We removed the 20mm FlaK because it was unnecessary. There are enough other units like the static flak 38, Luchs and the sdkfz 251 c with it's mobile flak 38.

About the tree before modernisation I'll ask the other Devs :P.

The tree before modernization is the same, just that the last unit of each T2(Luchs & PaK40) & T3(Panther & Brummbär) pools are not available.

We changed some things, so we try to reduce the redundancy of units at some extent. Ostheer used had a lot of stuff, and while having much diversity sometimes is good, that's not the objective of EF(adding diversity at the expense of redundant units).

We also tried to give a different "feeling" to Ostheer when comparing to other axis factions. We really think everyone will like the final product ;).

Atm I think the current design is not broken(or at least not that much as soviets used to be in 1.0), so you can expect than Ostheer design remain like this(or if we change something shouldn't be that noticeable).

As we have learnt a lot of stuff while creating the Ostheer, we hope we can apply it to soviets as well in the future.

Ostheer is able to produce tigers in the Panzer Kampf Kommand after you got a certain ability from a doctrine.

Remember Ostheer is a different faction, so it's panther will have a different cost, just like PE & WH panthers cost is different(bad comparison I know :P). I think you will be satisfied with the result :D!

Walki, that thing adding tiger by doctrine to be recruitable is great. i was thinking smth like that.

blackbichop, price for panzer V.. i cant say just like this, i had to try game(that version) so i can feel balance.. but 600+ in manpower (and 130+ fuel i mean hello??) is definitely too much.. in PE it's much better done thing with panzers V V( but just as you said, bad comparison:)).

however i want to say thank you guys for fast ansvering.
and just one more thing, i love when russians have trench's.. but you know what's best for this mod.. good luck to all EF team.
