The Classic Doom 3 modification is a remake of the original Doom game, by id Software. The main emphasis is that of bringing the older game up to date in a modern graphics engine. The project makes use of all of Doom 3's advanced graphical features while retaining the feel and gameplay of the original game. The project will only cover the shareware levels due to many reasons that include the following : - We are bored of converting over peoples stuff and want to create something of our own. - The mod started off as a fun way to learn how to mod for Doom 3, and we all feel we have learnt what we need to make our own project. - A more minor reason is the legalities of remaking anything past the freely available shareware episode. Our latest build is version 1.3.1 which is the final version that we plan to release. This version is numbered 1.3.1 to reflect the fact that it has been tested to work with Doom 3 patch release 1.3.1, and thus works both with Doom 3 on steam and windows vista..

Just finished the mod.. please add the other levels as well !! that would make one awesome remake which I would be willing to pay for! I bet there are a lot of doom fans out there who really want to play the entire game! PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Just played this and I am loving it!! Only the ingame music sucks (in my opinion) so I downloaded the PSX doom version music mp3's and played them in the background using Itunes while I turned the ingame music down/off. AWESOME! really atmospheric gameplay made me jump up once or twice xD just google for these psx songs they really match this mod!! Also created an autoexec with notepad containing this:

the com_FixedTic "1" will get rid of the microstutter which plagues the idTech 4 engine
simply place the autoexec in 'cdoom' this will improve gameplay a lot!
Using this autoexec the game will run in 1080p and with those psx tracks in the background you'll get a Doom experience the way it's meant to be played ;)
Why it includes only one episode? We want all 4 episodes and Doom II campaign.

I remember when the mod had only 4-5 maps in the beta. Damn this was really cool - but then it evolved into THIS. Great work!

I've heard that id Software is releasing the DOOM 3 Source Code. Maybe you guys can make a Classic DOOM remake indie?
It's not polished as your final but I was able to play the maps by copying the material definitions from cdoom_main.pk4 into cdoom_textures.pk4. Then I just copied cdoom_maps, cdoom_textures, and cdoom_sounds to the Dentonmod 2.02 directory (and the Sikkmod directory). Finally, I took JC Denton's HDR-Lite glprogs and materials from the Ruiner mod and pasted them into Dentonmod 2.02 along with Rygel's and the Doom 3 HR textures. Yeah, I have to manually start each map (map E1M1.map, etc) but it's cool that it works.
Playing it inside Dentonmod is great!
Playing it inside Sikkmod is a "tab bit difficult" though... LOL
