General Background Life in City 14 is deeply worse than in City 17. The Civilian Protection is much more aggressive, brutal and civilian-beating is commonplace. You have been sent here by a mysterious man, in a weird building, and your only chance to survive is a "run and shoot" process. You have lost your memories and your escape will cause the resistance to wake up, and you will have to deal with the Combine force lead by the doctor Breen, the one who will later be seen in Half-Life 2. Remember, "the right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world." Before City 17, there is City 14... Prequel to Half-Life 2? In HL2's first chapter "Point Insertion", you meet two citizen who say that they are disappointed to find the doctor Breen in City 17, after what he did in City 14. So, I tried to imagine what events did take place there...
Beta test for second chapter has begun
The beta-test process for the second chapter of City 14 has just begun. Unfortunately one map has been removed (lack of time...) but the other two maps are still there. So, the mod will be released in...

can i play it whit ep1?
thanx. . .
I think it's a great mod, even thought the boat is all screwed up, it keeps bouncing up and down. At the rebel site, they won't let me put the boat in the garage. I walked around and confronted each rebel and they just ignore me.
Otherwise, so far it seemed to be a decent mod. Lot's of action!
too many bugs.... ghost combines... jus can see their guns, got stuck in the fence hole under water...
I liked this mod, in spite of the bugs. (The headcrabs in the grass was brilliant.) Are you going to make a sequel? I just got a bunch of crossbow bolts and was wondering why I needed them, then it ended!
The only bugs I had a problem with dealt with the airboat:
- If I tried to go fast I went off the map (if I went slow and was willing to take a little damage, it worked just fine).
- When I took a jump "too fast" (there's a ramp, aren't I supposed to go fast to jump whatever?), the airboat would turn upside down and I had no way to turn it over.
they were good map details BUT THERE WAS NO STORY i didnt get it
Uhmmmm, this really interferes with the Half-Life 2 story. Gordon never was in City 14. In Half-Life 1, he was earlier in time, and at the end, you're employed by Gman. Gman then sends you to City 17, to clean up Breen's mess. The last part might be wrong, as we don't know everything about Gman. But Gordon NEVER was in City 14. NEVER!
I don't think you play as Gordan just some random guy who finds a H.E.V suit.
Did he ever SAY this was Gordon? And they don't say where you were between HL1 and HL2 besides a vague "in stasis somewhere" explanation so it's perfectly possible G-Man sent him on another assignment between games. Gordon doesn't talk, either, so of course he didn't show any recognition when the citizens were talking about City 14.
No you idiot, the story is about someone other than gordan freeman.Remember, READING is Fun, and its Good for Me
