The semi-popular Cinema mod for Max Payne 2. Cinema features quite a few changes to Max Payne 2, and to the way it's played. It's hard to describe most of what Cinema offers in words without sounding generic and bland, so it's definitely recommended that you check it out yourself! Cinema aims to provide the player with more of a movie feel, and pulls the task off quite nicely. Miniguns, cinematic feeling scenes -- it's all there!

What would happen if you took the emphasis on realistic damage from F.E.A.R., the ludicrous arsenal of the Terminator and a Hollywood-style movie soundtrack and applied it to Max Payne 2? Then you'd...

This mod is indeed very good. | can't say I can say a bad thing about it: nice effects, love the music, bullet time is even better and you left everything that makes mp2 so cool right where it should be.

Shooting the m16 realy feels like it should (though I have no real life experience) and finaly that useless sawn off is replaced with the most pawnage weapon off all: colt anaconda! Need a handheld handcannon/sniperrilfe? got it right here.

Just two points of improvement: that brownish blur in bullet time isn't necessery in my oppinion: could you make it optional? and a full documentation on the music would also be sweet, since I still miss one song, and "rest from the matrix tracks" just doesn't cut it.

no your not talking too much carm.

This reminds me of Action Quake or HL. I agree that Max looks kinda lame through the whole game with the cuts and stuff. I thought there were gonna be bullet holes in the bodies when you shoot ppl! thats lame theres not :-(

typing abit too much now... hmm i hope you guys will keep on using moddb after i type this... like ,if only disarmed enemies are aggressive, and their animations are completely replaced with runs, dodges (when they panic) , melee attacks and the disarm move(to try and grab their weapon back)
because, like as it is now, the commando characters stand in this 'gun holding' pose after you disarm them...
like they either stand still in shock, run towards other bad guys in fear, try to take their gun back, try to hit you with their bare hands, or maybe they have extra guns or something which they pull out...

adding this mod to my modwatch list hehehe

ok now for more positive suggestions... since max payne is so much about style and presentation, how about a tony hawk style scoring system for things you did and didnt do... like kill baddie X while he is still in his room, clear a particular room of enemies , stop so and so friendly npc from being killed, etc etc... hmm maybe its abit far fetched... maybe even a replay system or something if thats not out of the question...

and oh can the physics system in the game be tweaked or something? wierd things happen in bullet time like when a guy i just killed in bullet time was falling down, and i exit bullet time before he stands still he sorta gets thrown in the direction he was falling... or something... hard to describe it, ive seen it happen rarely... the more obvious one is when you go to mona's funhouse level and use the ball machine there, with and without bullet time... and another thing about bullet time...the sound that comes in when your exiting bullet time seems to be abit... too loud or something, or misplaced... and can max payne 2 have the 3dmark2001-style warping bullet trail effects since its on the same engine or something? why is it when i dodge when im in bullet time, that max moves so fast that hes unconvincing... the same to when im turning very fast after bullet time is turned on , max must look like an agent or something when he does that... and the dodging bullet time animation doesnt account for when you aim down or something , cuz it always makes the character aim horizontally ...

a first person view would be nice too, despite this game being max payne , cuz some of the more stairy levels are pretty impossible to go through because when some enemies pop up at some akward angle above or below you, and your character is supposed to have a direct line of sight to them , and therefore they have a direct line of sight to you too and start shooting you, the camera always looks at something else when your trying to aim at the enemies... of course when your doing moves like dodging and rolling on the ground the view temporarily goes to 3rd person , maybe as well as bullet time...
