Dark Ages in British Isles are fascinating, a dismal warlike time, in which people fight for survive. A dark age with deep blend of cultures.
6th and 7th centuries were a time when invaders (Saxons, Angles and Jutes) tried hard their destiny in a new world with the steel of their swords, shields and spears. Ancient people tried to resist, while they saw how their kingdoms are defeated and conquest by those “barbarians”, sorrowfully saw how his belowed world slowly disappeared off the face of the earth.

Couldn't forget to talk about the Picts also, who have always inspire great interest. Or about West, other island, as complex as Britain, Ireland in which many people were fighting for a piece land, their clans, livestock and supremacy.

In short, it is a world we know a little, but that it is like a magnet for history lovers: a time of war and great deeds, where few (almost none) kings died in his bed.

Installing this mod with a Steam version is basically the same, except your Warband is located in the Steam folder, something like:
c:\program files\steam\steam apps\common\mount and blade warband\modules

So when running the Brytenwalda installer and you get to "Select Destination Location", click 'browse' and browse to the modules folder in the Warband directory.

Yea I know about the special items. But that doesnt make the choises more varied. Special are like 1 armor, 2 helmets, and im not sure here 2 swords + the beowulf sword. That makes only 6 special items. There should also be more 2 h swords. I mean common, there wherent practically no 2h swords at all. But we all know that the brittish barbarians and christians all used 2h swords. This is a request thou: Please import some 2h swords and 2h axes form the native. I doubt it will be hard. Since you dont have to start form square one.

And as my reference to spears pointless, its because im not much of a spear guy. When 10 guys come at you with swords and shields, spear may only be use to the first guy that comes at you. The only good weapon in that situation is a good old 2h axe or a 2h great sword. Spear is a cavemans weapon. I might aswell start throwing rocks at them. And lances, halberiers, pikes are not spears, if someone wants to argue.

There is not much archaeological evidense for two-handed swords in this period. First of all swords were not that common (very expensive weapon) and those found are most likely used one-handed in combination with a shield. So two-handed swords will not be added. About spears: Yes they're useless in close combat, and that's sadly how the AI works in native. That's hard to change. The enemy shouldn't try to kiss you, but rather keep its distance while intermittently moving in for an attack. That way spears would be more useful, as they were back then.

This mod is the coolest thing ever. But somethings really suck in this mod. Like the axes. Why are they so lousy? They are so small and look like crap. God god we have barbarians in this mod, really should have consentrated on the axes aswell. There really isnt a large joice of armors and weapons to pick from. Shops only sell a few swords, and bunch of pointless spears. The tournaments really fustrate me. This is the part where native messed up. In the tournaments competitors should use their own armor and weapons. Thats whats in the history books. O and the prices at the tournaments arent very great. Please make the armor and sword choise more varied. I really like this mod, buts these things are really drawing me away from in.

The issue with small axes is fixed in version 1.332. Make sure to download that:

Issues with tournaments have also been fixed, but you still can't choose weapons.
There are quite a few new armours and swords in the mod, but some of them are 'special'/can't be found in shops, so you have to loot them from enemy noblemen or get them from special armourers (when you have more than 700 renown). It's part of the fun. We hope to expand the choice of weapons even more. When it comes to spears there's the dawn ray, spear-harpoon, long spear, short spear, Briton spear, Saxon long spear, hunting spear, war spear, hasta, long boar spear. And they all have different stats. I don't think they're "pointless".
