Just imagine the shock when I downloaded and booted it up expecting something new. Funny thing is that when I saw they hadn't even changed the menu and loading screen assets I was still confident, and thought it was just for "nostalgia's sake".

I've not forgiven you for not believing me the day I said that I've downloaded Cry of Fear hours earlier before the official release.
If you're upset over the confusing shitstorm that was the Cry of Fear release night, which happened over 3 months ago, then you might want to look at what was happening. Half of ModDB was checking the mod's main and download page that day in order to see when the mod would release. The lack of communication with the devs and the comments just made things worse, so when people started saying donators got the game early, people's first reaction was to regard it as false, seeing how there was no evidence until the torrent link. It really isn't something to be upset over, and you behavior then and your behavior now is immature and, frankly, rude.
I've not forgiven you.
