New Updates Coming Soon!!!

Modder turned developer. Started building levels in ~1997 in Duke3D and Half-Life. Had a career with Playstation on 4 of their platforms. Went back to modding in Unreal3Ed. Discovered Unity3D and bought a pro licence. Spent a few years making a game in Unity called Pimander, which was a lot of work for a solo dev. Next time I'd like to work with a team again on... something amazing and challenging, something that makes people love gaming. I love development and I love games. My current project is PocketMyriad.xyz

Personal Update

I'm having to change from video game developer to webmaster over at PocketMyriad.xyz. Consequently my development efforts are being demoted to being a hobby again like it was when I started out ~20 years ago or so and I haven't had time to look at Pimander for a couple of months.

I updated Pimander privately to the Unity 5 engine from the Unity 3 engine, which is what it released on. The real time GI lighting engine was working brilliantly compared to the old baked lightmaps, but the Standard Shader just didn't work right and made every surface look milky. I'd really like to update Pimander's engine and release an update but until I'm happy with what Unity's doing with their engine it's not going to happen. Plus I need to find time away from my other work.

Related to updating the engine I had a look at porting over to the Unreal 4 engine but that's a steep learning curve and a lot of effort porting assets and scripts. I think I'll give that a miss ;)

Later then.
