So, SickBrick has been available for Windows, Mac and Linux on Desura for a month now.
Check out the new launch trailer:
Had a rough start with the Linux version. It's wrapped in a wine wrapper and the Linux gaming community doesn't like that so they gave me a bunch of 1\10 reviews :\ also my fault that I didn't state clearly enough that it uses Wine. I fixed that by stating it on the game description, but still getting reviews saying "this shit runs on wine! 1\10"
We'll get a native linux version running as soon as the engine supports it. Until then the linux gamers are stuck with a wine wrapper. Sorry.
The game is selling slowly on Desura. Got 19 sales so far. Still waiting for the money train to start rollin'! :D
Was thinking about submitting it to Steam, but I'll wait a few more weeks till somebody posts a review about the game and I get some more publicity. (I've been sending a lot of emails to gaming news sites, not getting many replys :D)
People are mostly saying that the level design is boring so I've been upgrading level details so the rooms that looked really bland are now the best looking ones with little wires sticking out of the walls and a lot more model details. I'll wait for NeoAxis (the engine the game's built on) to get updated to 1.1. which will improve pathfinding and raise the frames-per-second by a lot (like 20fps more than now :D ). Also stuff like DoF and SSAO are planned in the upcoming patch.
Stay tuned!
Cheers!
