I work in telecommuncations by day and make games by night. Currently polishing up the Mayan Mystery game and putting together some content for it on the site.

Well, it's taken four years, but the Mayan Mystery is done. The last 10% was absolutely brutal to finish off, not because of it being difficult to create, but after so long working on one project, it was virtually impossible to be excited to work on the game any more! Being my first attempt at a game, it was quite a journey, and honestly, finishing this thing felt almost underwhelming. Definitely not the huge rush of excitement I was expecting, but I digress.
The game is fully playable from start to finish, but I'll be going through to fine-tune a few things here and there over the next little while to make sure it's all running how I expect it to (the last level, for instance, seems to run much slower).
My thinking about promoting the game is pretty simple. Considering that I'm a newbie, it'll be available for free/donation on the Adventure Apes Website while I tweak things and polish it all up. Once that is done, I will make the final version available on various sites like Indievania etc etc for a couple bucks. My hope is that the price will be low enough that people will be willing to give it a shot, and help pave the way for the next game in the series, a side-scrolling shooter called tentatively Jetpack Justice (below is a mockup. Am undecided whether to go with pixel graphics, or hand-drawn)
Anyways, now that the Mayan Mystery is more or less out of the way, I can definitely relax a little bit! I hope that you'll give the game a try, and if you do, let me know what you think of it :)
