interesting to use planes, id like to see the finished with the wireframe/mesh. as ProfNutButters does, i also start with a box and extrude away and jump back and forth from different views adjusting vertices making sure to grab all of em, keeping the faces together, bu i dont use a symmetry modifier, i might wanna look into that though ;)
good to see you move from blender, i moved from c4d and wont be back for a loooong time, unless work requires, meh...
