I'm an old schooler PC gaming and tech nut. Been employed in the industry for 20+ years and loving it. Long time coder and writer. Worked in most aspects of development in one capacity or another during my time. There's an amazing amount of talented people with fresh ideas here on ModDB. I really enjoy checking out and playing what others have/are working on. Too busy now for personal projects, but I truly appreciate the visions and efforts of those of you who can.Success to all of you and thank you! See you around the site !! Fair warning though - I have an odd sense of humor so please try not to take offense.

Been playing so many other games over the last year+ that I haven't played any Source mods except " Grey " ( +7 ) and " Cry of Fear " ( which I was sorely disappointed with ).

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this mod ! Played it x2. No mod is perfect by any definition, but this one painlessly popped me right back into the HL2 'verse again and it was good to be back. I'm not going into pro's and cons, 'cause I'm not that friggin' fussy. Over all, a wonderfully planned and executed project.

Thank you Pro-Bones for reminding me of how much I love Source mods !

Quite an interesting piece of work here. Titan: XCIX has a well written classic Sci-Fy genre story-line, well constructed and visually artistic ( nice work on the text also btw ). A refreshing change of pace HL2 mod.

"...Players will face many challenges that will test their brains rather than their trigger fingers..."

That being said; I'm a big Sci-Fi fan ( hell, I'm playing Deus Ex again right now ), so I can appreciate the mod more in the sense of it's entertainment strength being more in the story to be experienced than in a steady series of combat challenges. I can see why the classic HL2 mod player would be disappointed. Very well done IZaNaGi. I'd like to see more work from you in the future !

I truly admire the unconventional nature of this mod in it's artistically " human nature " approach and how skillfully it was accomplished. For this fact alone I rate it so highly, but to be honest, it didn't offer me much else in the form of content or game-play.

I strongly encouraging the author to pursue and expand his work with this type of project(s) in the future.

Quite a bit of fun ! I really enjoyed the animation work and humorous nature of the game. Took me a few minutes to get the knack of it, but played the whole time with a grin. I definitely recommended it for a change of pace.

Extremely promising ! If you can skillfully hook in a clearly " evolving " storyline, it'll be gold ! I had also embarrassingly forgotten how much fun SMOD was to play. Now I want that front kick attack in all my mods ! Keep it coming and all the best with chapter 1.

Just a quick few of my personal thoughts regarding this mod.
I installed this mod twice upon it's release and essentially wound up with quite a mess of corrupted and/or damaged ( texures mostly ) files and an unplayable mod. I got frustrated and said " some other time after it's patched ". A couple of days later, I discovered that it wasn't the mod at all, but a small download glitch with the Desura program. Fixed that and downloaded it a third time and I'm so very glad I did !

If what I've read is correct and this is Ludvig's first release, I cant believe it. This is one of the most thoroughly enjoyable HL2 mods that I've played in a while. Nearly everything about it seemed suited to all my personal preferences and style of play. Challenging, immersive, diversity of environments, consistent atmosphere and the ability to employ some tactical combat.

Overall, the level designs were just superb and well planned out. ( I'm a big fan of the " close quarters " style of mapping ) Each section lead clearly and progressively to the next with all the space within the maps skillfully and fully ( without cluttering ). Ludvig's good use of plenty of stock assets, together with the paralleled E1 story-time line, gave me the feeling of actually playing the original. My only critique was an insane difficulty spike with the Hunters battle, but we'll let that slide once. I rate this mod an absolute must play for all HL2 fans.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod a great deal. Meticulously well mapped with regard to the multitude of structural levels with a wonderful array of interior styles ! Visuals were excellent - from the TOD lighting, texturing, decals ( loved that bank banner ! ) along with the emphasis on a wide array of art throughout ( which I really appreciated ). Loved the the constant usage of strong colors from beginning to end as well.

A moment on the Casino - loved it ! The amount of thought, time and effort taken to construct and detail it was obvious and it came out wonderfully. Some players growled about the puzzle section and the ( really cool ) indestructible zombie there, but as an added element of urgency, it was a clever and refreshing puzzle.

Have to use your head here and there, but the game-play was generally linear with no major surprises which accompanying the story-line well, but left room for " something more ". I feel that that space would've been more than adequately filled with some ( scene appropriate ) generous
amounts of immersive mood and emotion evoking ambient scores.

I know that I'm always going on about mood and atmospheric ambients and my only real critique is that the overall feel of this mod could have benefited a great deal from some proper employments without damaging the " project goal " at all. All in all, a very solid and satisfying piece of work which I salute the efforts and creativity of the production team for.

Nicely immersive " slow the pace for a bit " piece of work with some very nice mapping and visuals.
