to keep it short and relevant. been playing videogames for a long time, and done some modding. See my page to find out more about my gaming bio.
I am always thinking of new ideas for games and trying to fuse 2 or more game genre together.
One of the ideas I had was to make a C&C RPG.
Now this may sound silly to some people, and they might say that would never work.
I like to have a more positive attitude and think that it would.
Now think of a GTA free roaming genre in which you could go anywhere, but you would have to unlock certain areas first before everywhere is available to you. Mix it with mercenaries which also resembles GTA. Add in Nod and Gdi units, and you have a C&C RPG.
You would start by creating a character, and then by selecting which side you would want to represent. Nod or Gdi.
Accordingly to whoever you choose, you would start at a different side of the map, Imagine San Andreas.
Nod would start in Los Santos, and Gdi would start in Las Vegas.
So say you start as nod. First few missions, you would go around the headquarters doing favors for the sergeant, and other senior members. You weren't permitted to handle fire weapons yet.
You would level up and get licences to use weapons later.
Ok, so let's not treat this as levels then, let's say you get promoted.
Then once you get promoted, you would be able to get more important missions, and able to leave the headquarters.
You would be able to acquire better weapons, vehicles, and gain new abilities, such as recruit your own troops to join your party and go with you in missions.
So then you would be able to free roam around that area until you got given a mission to expand.
If you killed innocent people as Nod you would get +points and get promoted quicker, but on the Gdi side it would be -points, which would demote you.
On the other hand, people would aid you on a fight against Nod, but would go against you as a Nod fighting gdi.
The more side missions you would do, the more you got promoted, which would help you more with primary missions, and expand the map, so towards the end you would have the licences for the best weapons and recruit a whole platoon to take on the enemy's headquarters and finish the main story in the game.
Just imagine a GTA San Andreas and C&C Fusion.
