Hi guys, and ladies!
Today was a very productive day for us at Matriarch Entertainment.. We solved some annoying bugs that was roaming around Forceline, causing things to not work as expected.
Some of the corrected issues today were:
- The "powerup stone sound" didn't play every time the Hero walked on it. (only the Hero can pick them up, this will be explained in next beta release by clicking "how to play" in the menu.)
- Sometimes dead army portraits followed to the next level.
- When an enemy unit died, the "unit number" got the wrong value and could display some random data from the game. For instance, i had the map screen blitted on the screen in Linux.
- There was an issue where the bosses just stood idle, and you couldn't finish the level.
- Some minor things
Balancing & Tweaking
Today also brought some balancing to the game. At the moment, Forceline is hard... very hard. We're having a though time beating the levels ourselves, in fact, we died about 85-90% of the time while playing today. We didn't realize that a change we did earlier made the game so much more difficult, and then we just happened to put out the game for alphafunding just when this "INSANE" difficulty settings was in installed... Perfect timing! However, with some more coding on the level editor, we quickly made it easy to balance things in the game with some simple mouse clicks.
