Continuing on from the map idea (which probably will never be done unless someone EXPERIENCED with 3DS Max PMs me), I have thought of another mod for BF2.
Not so much as another mod, more like a revival of a mod, perhaps.
Global Storm mod dev, Foxfort says that he can't continue making it, and it may end at version 4.5.  But I love the mod for its simplicity; not much is added, but is very worthwhile.  Skins are changed, sounds added, weapon models improved and textures revamped.  If I had the knowledge of how to mod, I would have gladly joined.  But alas, it is dying, he says.
I digress.I think there may be a way of putting a defibrillator to the mod's chest and reviving it.  The revival would require dedication and at least one modeller.  This mod would be called Operation Reclamation.
I have to give credit to JONES for making me get the idea for the mod through his awesome maps.  Like Harvest.

The Year is 2016.  China's natural resources have all but run dry, spare for a few mines of coal and uranium here and there.  With the Yang losing value in the modern world, her growing population and environmentally hazardous conditions in populated areas have forced her to seek resources and living space by domination.  After attacking the coasts of Japan and the borders of Russia, the United States pleas for an end to the hostilities, not knowing what caused this violent outburst.  In a surprise maneuver, the Chinese invade Canada and Alaska, realizing that there could be resources they need buried beneath the snow.
The MEC, desperate for revenge against their bitter Western enemy, offers to unleash its terror cells located within America, upon the American people, in exchange for an alliance with the PLA.
A deal is made, and the ALR (American Liberation and Resistance) is established, whose soul purpose is to disrupt the peace in American cities and destroy, or else hinder, US troop movements.
The US, obviously outnumbered and outgunned by two allied flanks, asks for the aid of its own allies.  Australia responds, sending 30,000 troops over to help the defensive.  Russia also heeds America's call to arms and sends the Russian 5th Army into the American heartland, and attacks China's borders.  The Canadian military, already holding the Chinese at bay on the east coast, confirms it will still have enough manpower to join the offensive.
The ALR and PLA have gained much ground, however, and victory will not come swiftly for either side; for the ALR have set a border spanning South-East to South-West of the USA, while the Chinese begin to cross the Canadian-American border in hopes of joining forces with their allies in the south.  Operation Reclamation; an all-out assault upon the invaders is the last resort for the American-Australian-Russian Alliance before nukes may have to be used on America itself.  It is now 2018, and the time of the assault is nigh.  Time to fight like you have never fought before.

You can see where a modeller will be needed; making Russian and ALR soldier models, and buildings for maps.
If Foxfort can be pursuaded, that would be the skinner/coder scratched off.  Now if someone was good at map making, that may be a whole team right there.
Me?  I'd probably just be the guy with the ideas and plans, I can't really contribute in any way.
I feel like an idiot for not doing anything.
Please take note that for once, the Russians aren't portrayed as the bad guys.
