I play a variety of games, I don't really stick to a single game for long. I used to work on the Shattered lands mod for Men of War Assault squad, but I "left the team" a long time ago because I simply lost interest in the game, and didn't have the time to put towards a huge project being done by a small team. If I find mods that have content that is without a shadow of a doubt, stolen from another game or mod that did not give permission for it to be reused, I will report it. you don't have to like it, but I don't care.

Digitalmindsoft, DMS for short. Is a small time German company that somehow took over rights to the Men of War series, It's original Developer Bestway from Ukraine, doesn't seem to be doing anything with the IP anymore, and it's parent Russian Publisher, 1C, Tested the waters and got chased away pretty quick after Men of War Vietnam, and how horrible it was.
Before i go any further I'm just going to make it clear that I don't actually care about Men of War anymore, it was a fun toybox to play around with. and DMS's MOW:Assault Squad was a polished improved version of the original, but it hasn't aged well. And in DMS' hands, they've done little to improve it. I mostly play other games like Planetside 2 now, But I still occassionally keep up with the MOW Moddb page. Just because like I said, it's a toybox that I come back to once in a while
They're making some kind of modern war spinoff now called Call to Arms, and it literally looks like Call of duty, American steamroller faction against obscure unknown rebel faction which is most likley just going to be "ragheads" No racism intended there, with weak weapons. Kind of like what Arma 2 Op Arrowhead was like.
For reasons I forgot, DMS blocked me from their youtube site, I don't remember what I said but it was obviously something that got their jimmies in a tussle, I've been dissapointed with DMS ever since they started rolling out updates for MOWAS, Which were horribly prioritized. One update they released a bunch of high res grenades and rifle ammo clips. which are literally like the size of someone's hand or smaller. but still hadn't updated the infantry models which are like 6 years old. Or the fact that the USA Faction had an entire new motor pool of fancy HD models whereas the Germans had like, 2 tanks, everything else was also 5 years old. Anyway my guess was that I called them out on that, and they didn't like that, and blocked me.
Then I started poking shit at how they were asking for backers, and wanted something like One million Euros backed soley from their community *which no offense to MOW fans, but a lot of them seem to be minors, or people who pirated the game*. so that's a joke too.
Anyway. getting to the point. After discovering I was blocked by their youtube account, I posted the same message meant for YT on the corresponding DMS Forums page. it reads as follows
"So are you ever going to show us what the other faction looks like? or are you only going to show US Weaponry like some kind of bad military geek's wet dream.
Should we all just assume that the enemy faction are just peasants in rags and turbans with AKs?....
Seriously, you've shown us like 11 renders of the same M1 Abrams, and a Million M4s. show some other stuff DMS.
Also, please. this time don't spend weeks making new Grenade models when you still have other models that are 6 years old."
Today "Instinct" the director or CEO or whomever, informed me that i've recieved another infraction for "flaming", and removed the comment without so much as offering to answer any of my questions.
I've had it with these pansies, These sorry sacks of shit cannot take any kind of criticism whatsoever, the only thing that is acceptable to them is for you to get on your knees, kiss their ass and praise them for the crumbs they give you. Anything else is 'flaming" and their little hearts just can't take it.
I'm sorry, and excuse my language. but how the fuck are you supposed to grow and improve as a video game developer, as a company, if you are unwilling to listen to feedback and take constructive criticism?
I told Instinct that he can go fuck himself, and to ban me from his website, Because I have absolutley no respect for a company that acts like that. I already disliked DMS for their lack of fucks given in their own mod forums. Mods that used to be on this site, which were removed for having stolen content, are popping up on DMS forums, and getting off scot free over there, DMS doesn't give a shit about Intellectual property. But it does give a shit when you aren't drooling over it's 12 different skins of the same M1A2 tank.
Not buying Call to Arms, Not giving one volcanic shit about DMS anymore. better things to do

This isn't a video par-say, but an audio clip, I don't know by what means some toothless Slovakian farmer came to record the audio for this, but I first saw a parody of it on an ArmA II Fan video, The Angry Tractor man is some Czech or Slovakian *I'm not sure which. The latter I think,* Trying to fix a tractor, and he completley blows his top. I've never heard someone scream so loud in my life, When I worked with the Shattered Lands mod, we actually wanted to put clips of this man's screaming as an ambient sound effect in our game.

Well, It wasn't perfect, and it wasn't exactly what I wanted. but it was the best they could do, and for what it's worth I'm happy with it now.
I mean, the only issues I had were a few key wtf points in the vanilla game, I'm a wuss so most of my complaints were about my charachter, LI's, and other charachter interactions instead of choice consequences and such. But it was nice to see a short Epilogue.
Also, however token it was. there was a semi-hidden sequence in the 5000+EMS Destroy ending *Also known as the shepard lives ending*, I'll just call it the "SLE"
3/4 of the endings show the crew standing around the memorial, saying their goodbyes to Shepard. And Shepard's Romance Partner if they have one is standing in the center with his name for the plaque and puts it on the wall. and then is comforted by a member of the crew, usually EDI
however in the SLE, there is one seemingly token and insignificant action in my game, and was even more difficult to read because it was Tali that was my partner and of course she wears the helmet, and you can't see her expressions.
Rewind back 30 seconds, Everyone is standing around the memorial sulking and crying, Tali in the center quietley, with the Shepard plaque. Walks up to the board but then hesitates to put it on, And then starts looking up as if shes thinking, and lowers the plaque away from the board as the screen fades to black.
My thoughts were, "Oh shit. she knows, she knows that he's still alive",
The ship takes off, and then the screen shifts to a pile of rubble and broken shit. Dramatic music suddenly stops, and Shepard wakes up alive.
Closest thing to a rianbows and butterflies happy ending it can get really, So it's good enough, It wasn't what I Expected, but it's better than last time. and while it's highly unlikley, maybe it isnt over.

I think something died inside of me after my ME3 Ending. I'm not even sure if I ever want to play the game again.
SPOILERSIt's not because it was a bad ending, it's just because it tore my heart out, Shepard died in the end, he gave his life to save the galaxy, but he still died, Garrus and Tali, My long time favorite teammates, the latter being the charachter I "romanced", also died shortly before he did. And likley all his other friends did aswell.
It tears the heart out of me because it doesn't even seem like it's the same game. I mean it's Science fiction and all, but the Reapers thing was still somewhat grounded in feasibliy, In the end it was some kind of Synthetic/Machine God or other entity. it didn't fit and it in a lot of ways, it did ruin the game for me.
I think what hurts me the most is, I knew it was the end of the series, but I was expecting a kind of ending that would result in either, A - Failure or B - The main charachters *who survived* come home and celebrate victory before fading into obscurity, retiring, dying of old age. whatever.
There's just some things I know now, that I wish I had never known, and left it up to imagination,
Like Tali's face, The Protheans, and obviously, the end of this series.
I'm at a complete loss of words. I don't know what to say about the ending, I'm just in complete shock,
I don't want to say that I hate the ending, but I did not like it at -all-.
Everything about Mass effect 3 was -amazing-, until the suicide run for the Conduit. Which everyone except Shepard and Anderson get killed, your teammates included, Garrus and Tali were incinerated by Harbinger while they were behind me. I was really looking forward to having more Talks about Calibrations and Drunken Quarian moments.
For anyone who comes onto my page to post hate mail because I spoke out against your mod when it used content ripped from one game or another, this is for you
The Men of war game is an easily modifyable platform, that being said it is also somewhat simple to decompile models from other games, whether they be tanks, soldiers, helmets, buildings, weapons, etc. And import them into your game.
Just because it is easy, doesn't mean you can, and in fact it's Illegal, it's shit like this that causes Bureaucratic morons in the American Government to come up with things like SOPA and PIPA in the first place.
Nobody gives a flying fuck if your mod is -fun-, the first thing the higherups *Moderation on this site included* are going to look at is the fact that you've stolen the Intellectual property of another person or company
The Men of War and Assault Squad pages are a joke, every 3 out of 4 mods is using content ripped from Battlefield 2, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Half Life, Day of Defeat, Mafia 2, whatever. the list goes on
And many still use content that was stolen from other people, and "given permission" by these others, The Last Time I checked I wasn't able to lend my grandmother's car to a friend, it's not mine to lend. The same rule applies. There is still a lot of content from several mods that have been flat out banned from Moddb, this content is still floating around, if you use it, you are responsible for removing it, if you don't, your at fault, no one else.
This is perhaps why Moderation pays so little attention to Men of War pages, it's a mess and it's gotten out of control. and those who break the rules "you know who you are" are just ruining the image of this innovative and unique game.
