I try pretty hard not to bash mods, I make textures for world of tanks sometimes (usually pretty crappy), I tried modeling once, that went very badly, Tried mapping, also bad, about the only thing I can do well is edit INI files for Command and Conquer games. I try to help people, if your model has a problem, if something is wrong with the texture I will try to tell you in the nicest way possible, if you never get around to fixing it that's fine, I know how hard it is to find time. I just try to help everyone I can, time is so short in this life. I don't really know how to talk about myself, so I will let my actions say all that needs to be said.
I don't really know why, but I just love it. It's an underdog tank. Every vehicle T-62s have ever fought have been stronger, faster or just all around better.
It was revolutionary when first made, much like the T-54, it was the first tank to use a smoothbore gun, in a rather unusual caliber of 115mm. This new gun also used APFDS shells, another first. But, it had several problems. There were no ergonomical or logistical improvements over the T-55 whatsoever, and the T-62 was much slower then the T-55, weighed several tons more, and cost 2.5 times as much. Infact, in the logistics department, the T-62 was worse. It threw its tracks constantly, and consumed more fuel then the T-55. Another blunder was that while it had radiation shielding, until later models there was no NBC system. Most eastern bloc tanks have problems with gun depression, the T-62 added a special twist. The gun could only be loaded from a level position, and all turret traversal power was suspended during the procedure. The gunner could not track targets or engage infantry while the gun was being loaded. It has some other peculiarities, there was a small hatch on the back of the turret that flew open when a shell ejected, the shell ejector had considerable force, shells flew out of there pretty quick.
