Actually we don't have 100% proof that exactly orks destroyed Blood Ravens. I have a better explanation: considering the fact that we can see chaos marines, storming Tau base in the main game intro, we can presume that Alpha succeeded in capturing of their stronghold and ion cannon. Having this advantage, they could easily finish both, orks and ravens, while they were busy killing each other. Such tactic fits the spirit of the Alpha Legion.
Err, in the Soulstorm main game intro, the Tau are fighting against Imperial Guard and Sisters of Battle in a place that doesn't look like the Tau base.
CAMPAIGN intro. In campaign intro Alpha attacks tau base, and SoBs are defending against Alpha heretics in their monastery. As to the Soulstorm intro movie... it is just nonsense separate teaser introducing SoBs in pathos mode. It even contains Alexander, who was killed by Ravens in Dark Crusade.
