I'd say keep the combat system from ME3 (combat rolls and heavy melees) bring back equipable heavy weapons from ME2 and a vehicle, like the Mako from ME1, for exploring plants and don't have a ending like ME3.

As long as they make it more like Mass Effect 1 and Less like 2 and 3 I really don't care (within reason)

Honestly im hoping for a return of a Mass Effect 1 style of game. I know it won't happen just because of the trend of the last two (which were still great games btw) but for some reason, ME1 sticks in my mind as the definitive Mass Effect game... I have no idea why since, while playing it, i did get frusterated by some aspects (all of which fixed in ME2), but there is just something about it that is good. Maybe it's nostalgia idk, it was the game that introduced us all to the franchise so...

It could also be the build-up to a larger storyline and threat (the reapers as a whole) while also having a very satisfying end-game boss. When you kill Sovereign you feel like you accomplished something, but it still leaves you looking forward to the next game. Basically i'm hoping the new ME game will return to what made ME1 so good story-wise if not gameplay mechanics-wise...

its a solid, satisfying storyline with an emphasis on your actions not combat. as well as fun combat and a basic rpg game design.

Honestly? IF It'll be a sequel, there's two options (A third, unlikely one exists, but onto that later):

1. Bioware makes one of the endings (Yes yes, don't complain blah blah) canon. Why? Well, simply put. If we are able to take our saves from ME3 and use them in ME4, then we'll see what happens when we chose our ending. That said, they'd seriously have to create three mirror universes for that to be able to happen. Which is unlikely, so they'll probably just make one ending canon.

2. Endings won't matter. It'll be the same place with little changes into the world. Like this: With reapers, without reapers and AI's, or With reapers + Everyone is some Cyborg and such. Which would be stupid, but hey. It's Bioware. The company I loved once has made some stupid choices.

3. (Unlikely) The endings will actually influence the world, and it'll be a completely different experience (To some degree, of course) depending which ending you got. Once again, unlikely. Why? Bioware is just sometimes, lazy.

It'll probably be a prequal

They themself said that the trilogy has ended. It will not carry on. Otherwise they loose all of what little integrity bioware has left.

I think it'll be about Wrepard.

I guess it's fair to assume that London accents would evolve over 100+ years of overpopulation and galactic expansion.
