Octopede Thread - Indie Game Stand Community

Hey guys, thought I'd kick off these forums with a game I think you guys should check out!

The concept of the new IGS deal game, QRTH-PHYL, got me thinking about another game I picked up a while ago called Octopede.

Octopede is a fun little snake-inspired arcade game, and you should definitely check it out if you're a fan of frantic arcade action and trying to get the top score.  Octopede games start out a little slow, but rapidly throw new elements and obstacles at you.  The game keeps up the intensity until you finally die.

Unlike the classic 'snake' game, hitting your tail or walls doesn't kill you, but getting hit by enemies will destroy a piece of your tail (which can also be consumed as ammo for various abilities), as well as increasing your score multiplier.  You can 'cache' part of your tail to permanently boost your multiplier, but then it can't be used as health, so be wary.

The game looks and sounds great; the graphics have a nice retro appeal without being too blocky or ugly, and the frantic soundtrack really reflects the pace of the game.

With tons of enemies (each with their own traits and weaknesses), an ever-changing game environment, and loads of pickups and abilities, this is one any arcade fan shouldn't miss.
