A pentagram, "turned up" so to speak is said to be a satanic symbol. The other way around it is a pagan symbol of fertility. Where did you read (or hear) it was a symbol for Jesus Christ? The Christians did everything they could to make this symbol evil.

This is from wikipedia, but I saw evidence about this on other more specialized sources too

Pentagram became evil for Christian just in 19. century..

the upturned pentagram is a holy symbol... showing god and the spirit over the 4 elements. An inverted Pentagram is unholy because it shows the 4 elements ruling over the spirit and god...
