Nice, but I've seen better looking voxel games, for example Blockscape. What makes this game so unique that I should buy it?
Note that I'm big sucker for voxel games but at this point I've seen most if not everything so game has to be really unique for me to consider playing or buying it.
I long thought about your question. Then I realised that the answer whether the game is unique or not is subjective. I believe that my game is unique.
Simply try the demo. If you like the style, the gameplay then buy it.
You can also watch it and then see how the development continues and then buy it later.
The game has at lest one unique feature: the smelting. I've never seen a game that handles it in that realistic of a way. The game also has an ability to have different textures for the same thing at the same time called Master of Materials. As an example: the tile has Master of Materials allowing you to place tile with different patterns without crafting each pattern. I have asked and the Dev has agreed, I believe, to expand this to more things like the stone and clay bricks. The game is under development and feature may be added to make it even more unique.
Blockscape has better looking textures but it still has a block like look to it, even with the angles. Synworld has more realistic flowing terain that meshes together better and the trees are better looking in my opinion. The Dev here is willing to take feed back to improve the game so long as it's fairly realistic. He's stated that orcs and such is not part of the game. Also there is a RPG part of this game where you earn XP for mining important things and kill the wildlife. Which reminds me. Dev what about XP for some of the crafting like the beds and chests but not the brick and concrete? This game also has a modding system setup for the future for mods in java.
Now that I'm done rambling, this game has a lot of potential and is a decent game right now if you want to explore and build.
Thank you!
Do you mean that you get XP when you create a bed or a chest?
Yes, Beds, containers, tools, etc. But not materials like bricks, concrete, glue, nails, planks, and such. I would like to see that as a feature.
Ok. why not. Most of the games today reward everything :-).
Forget what I said about Blockscape. Sometime after my last demo of it, it went through a major graphics update. It looks nice, but has a hefty system requirement. Synworld runs well on lower end systems.
I like the novel smelting too.
And by the way I was very active in the last week. I added a lot of content to the new wiki. Check it out!
Thank you for the update. Landmarks and markers look cool. I see some new blocks like glass are added to the wikia, thank you. I can't wait for the next release.
