StarDrive is a 4X Action-Strategy game where the goal is to build a space empire. Starting with a single planet and a small number of space-worthy vessels, you forge out into the galaxy, exploring new worlds, building new colonies, and discovering the StarDrive universe. The heart of StarDrive is its ship design and combat engine. StarDrive takes a module-based approach to ship design, allowing the player to create custom ship designs where the composition and placement of ship modules really matters to the performance of a ship in combat. In combat, if your portside armor is taking a beating, then rotate around and show them the starboard side! Hide behind a friendly capital ship's shields, warp into and out of the fray, launch fighters, lay mines, and so much more.

I think this game looks interesting, but I really can't imagine buying it without having first tried a demo. Any possibility of a demo coming?
Hmm, sadly not I believe. I'd say, wait a month or two, and then buy it - when A) a lot of bugs will be fixed and new features added, and B) the price might even have dropped.
It's really spectacular re: the ship designing, combat, and scope for mods; but it's currently in need of quite a bit of polish. Just had to be released because of publisher deadlines.
i dont mean to beat a dead horse or anything, but...
is there a time period i can expect to receive my steam key in?
i have kind of been waiting for that to get into the game..

2. Get over to the forums and PM Zero himself or post in the steam keys thread. Zero provided Desura with a full set of Steam keys that they should have distributed to you weeks ago.
Why can't we add mods to this game? It has integrated mod support and numerous mods released and in development...
May I ask how this has an average rating of 9.1?
Because it's largely rated by the players that are optimistic for its future. I think we'd all agree that it's in an unfinished state and requiring a lot of polish, but the base game below is really quite spectacular...
So the high votes on here are more predictive values, even though it's in poor form for a release version. The devs are continually upgrading and expanding the game for free, though, and the modding community is really strong - but for some reason we can't add mods on moddb for it...
No it's not multiplayer game. Only single player.
Multiplayer is planned as a future (free, afaik) expansion
Lies, the multiplayer is coming very soon but is not yet incorporated.
This is why it used to say "multiplayer" on steam but was recently removed. Once the multiplayer feature comes, steam will be re-updated to say "multiplayer" once again.
Buy it now, it gives you lots of practice for when MP comes and the developer is very open with his progress on updates, on the website. Not to mention that the game is awesome.
