Star-Twine is a strategy game with ambient sounds, stunning visuals and a virtually infinite number of levels to play on. Battles unfold on sprawling three-dimensional maps where you, a small point of light, must build structures to extract energy from the threads that make up the world. Energy can be spent on new structures, each with their own unique abilities. Engage in challenging battles against the reactive enemy AI, or play against others online. Star-Twine lets you explore complex strategies and intense gameplay within a relaxed, atmospheric experience.
Star Twine is a different Real Time Strategy game.
It is really simple, with a solid objective: Destroy all enemy buildings. It sure doesn't sound hard and even sounds a bit lame at first, but when you are playing it, the objective seems a lot harder and interesting, this game rocks.
You "MUST" use every single thing the game provides you to win, so they don't throw stupid and useless stuff in the game, they give you a really great tutorial, and you have a calming soundtrack which adds with the in-game sounds (saying what sounds would be spoiling so I'm teasing you to play the demo at least and discover what!)
Star-Twine is an epic RTS game, I really love it, I rate it with a 9, it sometimes seems to lack something, but overall it is really that great.
This game is a nice change from the normal RTS, it has a relaxing affect to it. The music is just great it really suits the game and with the turrets adding to it really makes enjoyable music.
I say try the demo, I myself didn't I just bought it, but had some trouble getting it to run because I have an older computer but thanks to the patch woflox put out I am now able to play my new favorite game and I'm having loads of fun and you will most likely will as well.
I have never played anything quite like Star-Twine. This is one of the most unique and interesting games I have ever played.
This game is gorgeous. Each of the stages are a wonderfully random (and quite enormous) mass of 'threads' floating in the middle of space, which you are free to explore. It's a strangely beautiful and otherworldly experience. The game also features a really nice ambient electronic soundtrack from the developer himself. Check it out: Ericbillingsley.bandcamp.com
And once you get the hang of the mechanics, it's a lot of fun too. I can't give this any less than a 10 because of the slack-jawed delight I experienced the first few times I played it.
A very unique strategy space game.
The player builds "guns" and energy asorbers on a thread. Enemy on one end of the thread, player on other. Whoever gets most energy and destroys the other wins.
New concept of gameplay.
Runs well on low-medium PCs.
Easy to learn.
Have to think differently to play this game. (Not neccesarily a bad thing)
Graphics are effective but simple.
Not much variety.
