SickBrick is an action-oriented Sci-Fi FPS with modern graphics and oldschool gameplay inspired by Portal and Serious Sam. Out now for Windows, Linux and Mac! (linux version uses a wine wrapper)
It's a straightforward FPS with some stuff added like two levels where you drive a tank and little platforming parts to break up all the robot-killing :D The game consists of 15 levels mixing indoor and outdoor areas. You're forced to do tests for an unknown robotic mastermind. As you go through the tests, you slowly unravel the story through log files of previous test subjects.

For an indie developed game, it has really nice rendering and graphics. The atmosphere of the game is pretty good too. However some models don't look too right, but its neglible. Just waiting on a native Linux release now.

Only played the demo but here's my review: lots of potential but lacking polish. For example in the first level the footsteps sounded like timber flooring when walking into the water. Mouse pointer was very skittish when inside a vehicle. Seems to be too many empty spaces & long walks.
Fun though, seemed like it could be an interesting story and audio log files are cool though the voice-overs were not as good as I'd expect. Quality varied but sometimes I found myself struggling to hear what was said.
Not a native game - works via Wine (however it worked perfectly for me on Linux Mint 11).

This game is real good, it has the feeling of the game portal, if you know it, and having a non-AAA engine but with graphic quality like such, it makes the game a masterpiece, and by the way, it is not with the engine, it is with the gameplay that makes a game cool and great. It is with the developers not the software. Have a great day!

Just blasted through the game this morning and had great fun.
With only one difficulty level, I found it a bit to easy. My FPS skills are nowhere close to being honed, but still got myself through the whole game in about 1 hour 30 min or so.
Great graphics style and just about cheesy enough voice over to make it work.
I'm holding back the rating a bit due to lack of polishing. The unique 3D model / environment style is not reflected everywhere and especially in the 2D art area (HUD, menus, fonts).

This game is great. Maybe needs more polishing, but as I understand just one guy made the whole game. For only 6 euros I really enjoyed the experience.

I played the demo. Looks cool. For $8 I will definitely be buying this.

At the moment, I've just played the demo but so far I'm enjoying the game very much and am willing to purchase once I save up money. At the same time, it's good to address both, upsides and downsides...
GOOD: The atmosphere, which is one of the most important things for a FPS's, is fitting enough. The environment, enemy design, and ambience does bring up reminders of Portal, but still manages to impress on its own. Guns lack innovation, but no an enjoyably amount of punch when firing. And I can say it was much fun to shoot objects and robot remains around (Amazing physics, btw). The scattered wall writings do make things a tad too easy to complete, but definitely contribute well to that 'The Cake is a lie!'-style atmosphere. Awesome to see a few computer logs and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed one written in what appears to be Serbo-Croatian; I see that as more of a 'Croteam' influence than a 'Serious Sam' influence, but nice feature nonetheless. Graphics are also sweet, but it was once I got outside when things started to look very beautiful with lighting and pretty landscape. Overall, the technical image can't be faulted.
BAD: This guiding robot creeped me out more than GLADoS, both in voice and speech. But often he was hard to understand, and I noticed no subtitle feature to help. Running around felt like I was playing Chrome, minus the inertia. I would have loved to see a bit of animation when running around with the gun just not to feel like a skating statue. The 'fan' puzzles were nice, but I did end up dying a lot merely because it was too hard to navigate when in the air, so that needs fixing. Also, I expected slightly more puzzles at present. This is definitely as action-packed as Serious Sam, but I would have loved a few more challenges to keep interest.
This is just my demo impression, and I will rewrite my review after purchase. Be sure to update these little issues so it becomes more enjoyable, but overall Great Effort!

I played it for around an hour and a half. It overwrote my save game the next time I loaded it.
Gay.

Running games in WINE is unreliable at best. Some manage. This one doesn't. Since it already has MacOS X port I bet it would be easier to port it properly to Linux than fix all the bugs in WINE.
