RUNNING WITH RIFLES beta 0.72 is out with a new winter map!

Posted by pasik on Sep 27th, 2012

Hey there!

0.72 is out now, the highlight of the release being map4 - a cold snow filled winter map with a few fortified bases, camps and trenches! This map studies the subject of having the territories in mostly a linear formation, making it very easy to follow and suitable for player-vs-player action too.

Beside the usual bug fixes, weapon and AI balancing efforts, this version marks the point when player stats will be stored in a persistent way - you won't see them yet (except in the log), 0.73 coming soon shall then reveal how well you had been doing once the trophy view has been implemented.

Also, achievement badges are starting to roll in now. A few badges have been added already -- feedback whether you feel they are too hard / easy is always welcome! See the full change log on the forum.

I bought this from devs website ages ago. Great game that you should definitely buy. One thing that bothered me was the washed out color look in the maps. It was kinda hard to see what was going on, although I think I am in the minority on that opinion :/

This map fixes that. The graphics are bright and clean and don't look washed out. This is a true joy to play with this winter map.

If you don't own this game - BUY IT NOW!!!

True, that. The fog/lighting settings have been tweaked a bit in the last few builds. Overall, the colors should be significantly less washed out than e.g. in the 0.67 demo, in all maps.

Some "atmospheric color handling" is still obviously there to make the backgrounds appear uniform, yet I'm sure the color tweaking hasn't come to its end yet!
