Revenge Of The Cats: Ethernet is a free experimental online multiplayer FPS with unique gameplay: Alternate between the pure energy "ether form" and the physical manifestation called "CAT". Capture territory and defeat enemies using a multitude of weapons, grenades, and target-seeking discs that can be deflected and steered around corners. Thanks to the territory capturing and the fact that you can only change into CAT form on friendly territory, this game is much deeper than your usual abstract shooter.

This game has incredibly original, fun, deep and rewarding gameplay. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a new kind of FPS game. Big pluses for being both free and cross platform.

Downloaded and tested this game, gotta say great gameplay concept! If all the aspects of the game were as good as the concept I'd give it a 10 for sure. It's like Tron crossed with Tribes. I realize it's still a prototype and experimental, so I'm pumped to see which way this game goes. Tweak the menus a bit, add a bit more to textures, lighting, mapping, add bot support and you'll have a great game. I'm gonna test this out at my next small LAN party and see what everyone else thinks about it. Great job guys!

Really fun shooter game! Great objective behind it and fun to play with some friends. However a Single Player mode vs bots should be added as the player population is very low. The idea of joining the IRC and asking for a match is genius!

Still has room for (mostly technical) improvement but it's a solid, fun and interesting game. Definitely worth downloading and joining the IRC channel (#rotc on FreeNode) to ask if anyone can play a match with you.

like it says, this is still a prototype, meaning it isn't too polished. however, a lot of things are already very promising. the health system, in particular, is a refreshing change from the classic "die, respawn, and die again" system, and the movement speed and weapon choices make it great for multiplayer.
