Projekt "W" (for Weltherrscher = World ruler) - "Phase 2" is a turn-based strategy game set in the not-so-distant future. You take control over one of the five big remaining nations and your goal is lead it to world domination. During this task you - Manage regions by constructing buildings - Manage divisions and military units - Attack enemy regions / defend your regions on hex-based 3D battle fields - Research dozens of technologies (to unlock new buildings and units) - Work on global projects to unleash them onto your enemies or use them for your own advantage - Hire agents, scientists and generals - Do espionage and sabotage on your enemies (including counter-espionage) The game uses OpenGL to render it's state-of-the art visuals and can be played either against human players (via hotseat) or against the AI.

Hi, I just installed this on linux 64 bits and so far it seems to be working fine. I'll come back and provide more feedback once I've played a little. Thanx for the free Grand Strategy Game.

Seems I am a bit late, I hope the project is still alive. I discovered it just recently (desperately looking for a game which would combine global/grand strategy with turn based battles) and I just love it :)

If it's still alive, I'd like to jot down some suggestions:
- There are some buildings that are more expensive and take longer to build (or are on par), but offer no apparent advantages (e.g.'Unified transportation system' vs. 'Air filtration plant' or 'Digital media library' vs. 'Virtual reality centre')
- Some units can move more than one field on the battle map. It would be convinient if you could directly click on the destination field instead of having to click multiple times
- The arrows in the region screens are great, indicating if something is improving or getting worse. It would be even better, if you could see by what value something is changing and why. This could be solved by tooltips on the arrows, indicating some values and modificators.
- Disabling is too easy for able agents (100% success rate). It is the most useful sabotage action an agent can perform (disable the air defense and invade the region more or less unharmed using lots of air units). It should be more difficult.
- Air defense guns are too weak. If you have a division with 3-4 jet figthers / bombers, you can take a region without loosing one plane, despite the air defense towers. If you want no losses, you should be "forced" to disable the AAAs before the invasion.
- AI seems to have a tendency of building too many power plants (overpowered regions)
- The AI could be tweaked to build less defensive buildings in regions deep within friendly territory. Scientific and economic output could be increased that way.
- An option to improve coastal and defensive buildings using research would be nice
- Coastal defensive building: Naval base, offers artillery support while defending

Thx for considering and of course creating this awesome game in the first place!

It's like Sid Meier's Civilization IV and V?

Partially. It's not a clone or copy of Civilization, thouth Civ has clearly been an influence during development of my game.

There are lots of differences between the two, e.g. there are now different ages, the region's are predefined (no creating of your own settlements) and there's no exploration.

On the other hand you have complete turn-based hexagonal battle when fighting for regions, you can hire staff, do espionage and sabotage and much more.

So if you like Civ, then you may also like my game ;)

Hi! I have problem with this game, cant launch it, can someone help me?
Problem is, that just some window blinks and disappears. I have no idea where logs can be.
My HW setup is Radeon 5870, AMD Phenom II 550, 4GB RAM, Xubuntu 13.04.
This looks really nice, but no way to test it for me so far, so help is appreciated :)

Hey there, the logs should be in your user directory, in the sub directory called "ProjektW_Phase2". That directory should contain a "log.html". Could you post it here? It may help me finding out why the game won't start on your machine.
