Oniken is a 2D platform action indie game that make use of 8-bit graphic style. My friend Pedro Paiva and I are putting a great effort to guarantee that this game feels really like an 8 bit classic. Everything on Oniken, from the character design to the music, is a tribute to the 8-bit action games from the NES era. So if you like old-school games be prepared for Oniken and remember... Oniken is NES hard!
By purchasing Oniken, you will also get with no extra charging Oniken´s Manual and Original Sound Track composed by Thommaz Kauffmann, Bruno Araujo and N-Freq.
*** Mac and Linux version uses wrappers. They're not a port, however in almost every machine that we tested the game it runs without any problem. However if you had a problem please e-mail us!
In commemoration to Oniken´s launch, we decide to give way a short game we made using some of Oniken´s code. MRC6-454 is also sci-fi themed, but it has a completely different passing from Oniken. You can download MRC6-454 for free on the link in this article.

MRC6-454 is a space themed game, focused mostly on exploration with some shooting and with a non linear stage design. Game sets around bounty hunter Rachel E., who takes an apparently easy job of looking for survivors inside a space research base named MRC6-454 and ends ups trapped inside of it. In order to set herself free, Rachel must understand some of the tech researched on the facility and use it on her favor while surviving its security system.
MRC6-454 is a minigame Thais had to develop for some reason in five days. Danilo and Thommaz had some time to spare and helped with their specialties: art and music. The whole game was actually made in four days and, though it has a completely different fell and pacing, it used as its programming base much of Oniken code. So we though it would be fair to release it together with Oniken, as a gift.
