I am enjoying this game but it would be nice if there was a 16:9 ratio (and 16:10) while keeping things proportional for 16:9 monitors (and 16:10) in full-screen so that the game would feel more immersive since it is based on jumping in and out of the different layers. Keeping proportions with black bars on the screen while in full-screen takes away from the game in my opinion.

I know there is a way to make it full-screen by losing the correct proportions (since it stretches a 4:3 to a 16:9 ratio or 16:10 in full-screen), but it would be much nicer to maintain the proportions. I own the 3DS version also and since it is 5:3 ratio (3DS upper screen) and based on making you immersed into the different layer dimensions, then it would make sense to make a 16:9 (and 16:10) options available to not lose that immersion.

Though I do appreciate that the game has been ported to PC and the blur effect is well done.

Wow this is on PC? Nice, now I can decide between this and the 3DS version (when it comes out in Europe).

I've been playing a lot of Mutant Mudds, plowing through levels and topping several leaderboard scores. On that note, if the leaderboards are anything to go by, it appears that I'm the first to have cleared the first forty levels and unlocked Grannie. I love the whole Game Boy, Virtual Boy, and CGA stuff, it's awesome. I've only played four of the Grannie levels so far. They're a lot more challenging and a hell of a lot of fun. It's really great being able to put all three abilities to the test.

This is a really excellent port. I was expecting some horrible XNA garbage, and I was pleasantly surprised. I love how you added in-menu shortcuts to open the save and configuration data directories, and the fact that I didn't need to **** around with x360ce to get my gamepad working. You guys know what you're doing, I like that. However, I'm wondering if there's a way to make the game launch in full screen. It always loads up as a window. I just alt-enter every time, but I'd really like to know if that's possible. I tried "-fullscreen" as a command line option, but that didn't seem to work.

At any rate, I think I've played enough of the game to leave a proper review score. I've given it a 10/10. I'm not much of a review writer, but I'll get to writing one when I can. The game mechanics are very good. It began to feel a little too simple and repetitive for a while there, but when I unlocked the extended hover and vertical boost and continued playing, those power-ups and the level design provided a lot more depth and challenge than casually breezing my way through the first twelve levels or so suggested. It just keeps getting better, and now I'm at those Grannie levels, where perfect timing, pin-point accuracy, and using the tools at your disposal as efficiently as possible has become integral.

Now that $8 I spent on They Bleed Pixels earlier today hurts even more. *cries*
TBP doesn't recognize old non SSE2 processors. Does this require an SSE2?

I haven't tested it on a non-SSE2 processor, but I don't think we require SSE2. We certainly don't intentionally. I can't speak for all the code, since we use FMOD, and I don't know what it does, but I suspect it's smart enough to skip SSE2 if it's missing.

I heard about Mutant Mudds ages ago, but never expected to be able to play it. About two months ago, my friend bought a 3DS, and I had the chance to play the demo. I was very impressed, and now I'm looking forward to picking this up.

I hope you guys continue developing for PC in the future. Hopefully we'll get a Linux port of this some day, and hopefully you'll keep releasing your games on Desura, GamersGate, and GOG, which is great to see during a time when so many AAA publishers and even several indie developers are opting for Steamworks exclusivity... though it's only a matter of time that Valve either recognizes their folly in declining this title, or the community sends Mutant Mudds skyrocketing up the polls on Steam's upcoming Greenlight system.

Then again, Mutant Mudds might just be a little too good for the likes of Steam. ;)

Thanks. It's true, though. You've made a great little game here, it deserves more praise and recognition before it's PC debut than it was getting.

It will be successful. Perhaps things might not pick up by launch, I'm surprised I was the first person to bother posting here on the Desura page, but it's one of THE most popular 3DS titles. Even people who don't own a 3DS like myself have heard of it and have had an interest in it. It's been reviewed quite positively by the likes of Nintendolife, Destructoid, IGN, and Gamespot. Even if it was to push five copies on launch, people will take notice of the quality of this title soon enough, and word of mouth is the single most powerful form of advertising.

I haven't even played through the original 3DS game, but I'm already looking forward to the sizable amount of extra content you've added for the PC release. I'd stop crossing your fingers and brace yourself for the next step. Unfortunately, unless you're really lucky and had a bunch of different hardware to test on, you're probably going to have some more debugging to do, and thankfully forums like the ones on GOG and especially the comment section here on Desura will be invaluable for feedback.

Your biggest obstacles to success will probably be people who didn't grow up on games like this and complain about the graphics. That, and the people who refuse to buy anything that isn't on Steam. As much as I'd hate to indulge those kind of people, thankfully Greenlight is coming up, and Mutant Mudds will be a shoo-in.

Frankly, it's embarrassing that games like Revelations 2012, ORION: Dino Beatdown, and SlamIt Pinball Big Score, to name a few, have made it onto Steam with little difficulty. That alone should be complete assurance that it is not a matter of Mutant Mudds' quality. The system is plainly broken. I'd expect this game to be in the top 10% on Greenlight at any given time, so you'll be raking in funds from the admittedly massive Steam audience in due time.
