This game is very well made, except for a few bumps in the system and interactions with people. It can be hard to understand exactly what you're asking people to do at times... Then again, it can be fun to ask the village elder to burn the fields to cover your assault. Or was that in Warband?
Either way, the AI is a little dumb in the start, but it does a serious ramp up when you go to the difficulty menu and give them a little more brain juice. I still hate the kahnate, as their lancers don't usually NEED the extra help.
Remember: him what rides the horse generally terrorizes the battle field.

I've always wanted a Medieval version of the X games (eg. X3 Terran Conflict). Free to roam and level and trade and slowly amass an empire.
Does this game have much in the way of empire building?
not really, but the Sword of damocles mod adds some pretty good kingdom management

Wtf? Calm down! This game is great, it's definitely not a problem the "little money", because you just do quests, loot villages and sell prisoners (not to mention the tournaments *_*) and you get rich in no time! In an only day I now have kinda 214000 danarii with no mods/cheats! If you want, instead, you can learn how to modify your character with the "god mode tutorial", using my template which gives you so much money that you can't even store in an entire empire .-. (wait, how the hell does my character keep it in his purse? XD)
The Dark Mod's combat methods were inspired by Mount and Blade, are any M&B fans interested in Thief or The Dark Mod?
