As a Christmas game it's delightful. It's a platformer but with no way to take damage and a very forgiving set of platforms it's extremely accessible. That's certainly a boon because the graphics and sound are perfect for a "family" game and those of us who still like a little storybook wonder from time to time. It's a very bookish art style and the scenery has a great hand drawn style. Combined with the original music score I couldn't help being reminded of watching "The Snowman" when I was still a kid.
If you take the time to explore there's around 5-6 or so hours of content, however, if you're buying this for someone who isn't necessarily a frequent gamer it'll obviously take a bit longer. Considering the quality of the game and the asking price I feel pleased with my purchase. This is of course assuming you never play again, but I'm pretty sure I'll be digging this up again for next year.
I'd say this a 9/10 at Christmas and an 8/10 for the rest of the year. The game itself is certainly solid but to get the most from it you'll want to play it whilst feeling a bit festive.

Marvin's Mittens is a little game with a tremendous amount of heart.
Experienced gamers will be able to see the ending within a few hours, but what's there is tight, focused, and well-designed.
The hand-drawn graphics make the game look like a children's book in motion, and the memorable original soundtrack will stick with you well beyond your time with the title.
If you enjoyed games like Journey, you'll find a lot to love in Marvin's Mittens.

Marvin's Mittens is a game for everyone who wants to relive some of winter’s childhood magical moments, as well as the fun sidescrolling platformers of the past. The music and sounds fit the feel of the game perfectly and with such easy controls it can be picked up by anyone, big and small.
I for one can’t wait to feel the magic again as I jump higher and higher, catching those snowflakes as I explore this winter wonderland. It is pure magic and I can’t get enough.

It's amazing how many of these '10' reviews have no other reviews to their name. I say this because this game is just a nice little platformer and nothing else. Passable gameplay, reasonable graphics and questionable logevity. Does that sound like a '10' to you?

I think this is one of the most charming and playable indie games I've seen - it could have come across as really sentimental, but it's pitched just right. I haven't finished the game yet, but am really enjoying the metroidvania style setup, and the mechanics seem to work very well indeed.
The art style and music are perfect. Congratulations on a great effort.
