Okay! I have it up and running on 64 bit.
This is how I did it.
First: sudo apt-get install libsfml-dev
Then open a terminal in:
/<desurahome>/common/mars-a-ridiculous-shooter
Run
/M.A.R.S.
Voila.
Hopefully that also works for other people :)
Actually, just tested, and one I have libsfml-dev installed, the game launches from Desura just fine.
