Let There Be Life is a relaxing, zen puzzle-like game that takes you to an enchanted world where you create magical trees and interact with playful wildlife. The trees want to grow big and beautiful, but they don't want to harm any flowers with shadows caused by their leaves.

*Let There Be Life is now on Greenlight - if it succeeds, we will gladly offer Steam keys to anyone who purchases the game here!

- Adding leaves increases the health of the trees, but...
- Plants on the ground below will die if in too much shadow!
- The farther you extend branches, the more health is added by new leaves (think multiplier).
- Mushrooms like shadows, and a fully grown mushroom resets the light for nearby plants.
- A variety of playful wildlife to unlock and interact with throughout the game.

"...I love the general idea and the vibe of the game." - Adrian Chmielarz, The Astronauts

"...relaxing, almost sedative experience" - Karl Magnus, DICE

Looks like it would port to Android well; like Spirits or Night Sky (two great puzzle/non-fast-action titles)

Yikes, somehow I missed this comment! Anyway, Let There Be Life is now available on the Google Play Store, and will be out soon on iOS as well.

We are currently working on mobile ports of the game - we plan to release on Mac once we get the iOS version together. If that didn't quite answer your question, please let me know!

"fiat osx" seems to have been a play on "fiat lux" (let there be light) Genesis 1:3 the likely inspiration for your title

I, too, would prefer an OSX version than running windows games inside a wine container on OSX.

It's a nice relaxing game to unwind a bit, with some puzzle element/branch management. Might not worth the full price in my eyes, but this 50% off thing makes it worthwhile. In any case, you can unlock stuff going through the levels and relax while playing it. It's got some background music that isn't annoying, and it's pretty fun sticking branches on the tree.

Thank you for the nice comments about Let There Be Life. Deciding on a price for one's creation is a challenge: you don't want to give your work away, but you want players to feel like they got their money's worth. We just changed the price from $9.99 to $7.99 - we're comfortable with that, and we hope players will be, too!
