exactly because of it. it shaped the whole industry as we know it. It is icon of gaming. Incredible at everything. And till this day we still use a lot of stuff that it invented back in the day. Not many games have made that much to the industry.
I played it back it the day and revisited it again with the Gear Box edition yes its a crappy as I remembered and more ugly now. Bury my comments under a pile of fanboy freeman groupies whatever.

Run as fast as you can in real life and try to stop and see what happens. The game tried to mimic real life physics. Its just not used in modern gaming anymore.
