I am happy to be able to officially announce that a new member has joined the Frozen Nightmare development team. He is a 3d modeler, a great 3d modeler. The thing is that this game is the kind of games that takes a huge ammount of props and 3d models in order to look and feel good, we are talking about a huge map, and we want to make it as detailed as we can. This is not an easy challenge but we are willing to face it to make this game something great. Ricardo Hernandez is the new team member, and he is going to be regularly posting news about his work. Ok, to be fair i guess the spline gun is just there as a guideline for modelling and the focus should be on the scope here.

But still it's not a good way for presentation of 3d models.

Also the scope itself isn't a game ready lowpoly and also not a highpoly version usefull for baking normalmaps as it still consist of lots of parametric objects with only cinema 4D shaders applied to them.

Honnestly, this is as far away from a gamemodel as it can be.

Well... at least he didn't use any boolean objects on it.

These guys are trying to improve there skills and share great content with the community.

At lest offer them some constructive feedback, to help them understand where you think they went wrong. So they can improve in the future.

Any one of the dev teams on here will tell you, games dev is hard work. Not enough time and lack of sleep takes its toll. Just by looking at your profile, anyone can see you have given nothing to the community. Lets see you do a better job.

Frozenstudios don't give up, you will get there in the end.

This is the very first post regarding a just-recruited modeler. It probably is just a work-in-progress to show the viewer some screens. Also this is "Indie"DB and not a large-scale project.

Pointing out that his work isn't perfect yet is cool, especially since it sounds you're a modeler too. But saying so in such a negative tone and judging the modeler by just ONE posted model - not cool man.

Give it time, maybe it'll become better.

ill tell you a good joke , a guy enters a community full of helpful people , smart programmers, great artists, and tons of users ready to give warm feedback, this guy finds a post about a new member joining a game developing team, the post shows theWORK-IN-PROGRESS of a sniper made by the new team member, for some reason his brain tells him he to call the new 3d modeller's work a joke. thats a great joke

Not for what i said, but for how i said it.

It's just when i read "a great 3d modeler" i expect something more then this even in WIP screens.

As for constructive critism...

Presentation: never render the presentation image with a black background, if you ain't got time or knowledge to put together a scene, use one from the presets that come with C4D. Which one depends on what you're going to presentate.
If you don't use a scene, some of the detail might get lost and the lack of any lights will cause your camera to be the light source.
Also, rather use the "Render to picture viewer" option and set up the size and quality using the "configure render settings" unless you wanna do an editor screenshot that shows off your model topology.
(but this is something i wouldn't recomend for presentation)

Modelling: is a far to complex task to explain it here.
And since i don't even know if this scope is intended to be used as highpoly for baking or as lowpoly gamemodel, i cannot say anything particular here.
But if you like, contact me via PM and i walk you through the basics of gamemodel creation in C4D and give you some usefull resources such as Links to tutorials and plugins usefull for game modelling.

Yeah, it`s clear that the Devs here are learning- but i don`t see anything wrong with this process. It`s not like this game costs 50$ ;)

Judging by the updates they are on a good way towards the nice product once it`s finished.
