But wouldent you have to take the exit to where you want to go, but then you would already be there And it would have been a waste of time ?
I think the idea is to have a method of fast travel, maybe to an outpost or resource center that you'd be visiting a lot anyway. And if you make a rather large town you might want to get to certain places quickly, say the edge of town or some shops ...
